"Clean, good food, well managed base for touring Provence" We had five nights at the Mascotte in early September. The desk staff and the manager were extremely helpful in making our stay pleasant. The buffet breakfast was good and the evening dinner menus were varied and of high (French) standard. The hotel is on the outskirts of the town but the centre is an easy 25 minute walk away or a simple 10 minute cheap bus ride, both of which we tried on two nights, dining at different restaurants. There was a preponderance of older English parties at the hotel but they were well behaved and should not upset younger travellers. If you want a sun, sand and clubbing holiday, try somewhere else. We'd go back if we ever visit Aix again.
