"Great location" Stayed here for three nights in June with my wife. Personally, I hate the word 'nice' (and no pun intended) but I think that is the best word to sum this hotel up. It is a superb location, about a five minute walk from the promenade and the main square with the markets in the day, and the restaurants at night, and that was definitely a bonus. Plus it is a twenty minute walk to the train station where you can get a train along the coast in either direction. The room we stayed in was slightly jaded and could have done with a makeover, but all the facilities were in fully working order and it was a very comfortable bed. If you are someone who is more concerned with location than marble bathrooms then this is the place for you!

"Great Hotel & Great Location!!!" My other half booked this hotel as a surprise trip to Nice for our 4th Anniversary. On arrival we were upgraded from a "tradition" room to a "deluxe" room with balcony and it was very nice! The room itself was very modern and looked as if it had been newly renovated with new carpet and a completely new bathroon. We couldn't fault the room at all, the only suggestion we have is better double glazing to keep the noise of the traffic out at night, but it wasn't that bad to complain!Our rate included breakfast and you could choose from buffet breakfast in the breakfast room or continental breakfast served in your room. We chose the buffet breakfast and this turned out to be very good indeed with a large selection of breads, pastries, cheeses, meats, yoghurts, fruits and also a hot selection with scrambled eggs and bacon. The location of the hotel was excellent, a 5 minute walk to the pedestrian area with lots of shops and restaurants. Only a short walk to the beach too! We found all the staff to be very helpful and the hotel very clean and modern. We really could not complain about anything! Some of the reviews made us wary before our stay but we had the best time ever, thank you Hotel Massena! We would certainly stay again!

"A fantastic visit!" Just returned to Sweden from Nice staying at hotel Massena and I feel I have to give credit to the staff! They were great in helping us with maps, locations and sightseeing. Breakfast was more than enough, kept us way past ordinary lunch time. Hotel Massena is situated in the middle of everything, 2 minutes walk to the shopping areas, 4-5 minutes to the flower market and the Promenade des Anglais. Having read earlier posted reviews I just can't understand what the complaints are all about!

"will be back!" Lovely staff excellent location - our room was lovely with huge bed and nice balcony. Breakfast was excellent and this hotel was definitely a treat.

"Lovely hotel in a lovely town" i stayed at this hotel for 3 nights recently and had an excellent time! I stayed in a De Luxe room which was just wonderful. The staff very courteous especially the English girl and the young man at the front desk. The hotel is very centrally located in the city, just a few minutes from the beach and main attractions. We asked at the front desk about renting a car and the staff were very helpful. The breakfast was very pleasant with a full buffet. the room was a little small but the staff worked hard to compensate for this small detail. The hotel is very charming with helpful and pleasant staff and I would recommend the hotel to couples who are looking for a short weekend break in the French Riviera.

I would recommend this hotel Very cute and cozy hotel conveniently locted in the center of the major attractions, restaurants and shoppes. Staff is extremely friendly and responsive. Standard room are somewhat small but clean and comfortable. Buffet breakfast has enough varieties for everyone. Hotel provides free internet access.

"Faultless" We stayed in a 6th floor room with balcony which was excellent. Staff were so polite and helpful. Have stayed in Nice several times now but this hotel is the best so far.

"Marvellous Massena" Stayed here sept 2005 and can only rave about this hotel. Had requested (via hotel web site) a balcony or terrace and received lovely reply promising that they would do all they could to ensure this. Arrived early, our room as expected was not ready but the nice girl on reception hurried things along. Room was fab , got our terrace plus a lovely view of the mountains, had breakfast out there each day. Hotel is spotlesss. Location great. Staff wonderful, particulary the concierge who urged us to return soon. We will return!
