"Excellent"
We had a fantastic time at the Medina Melbourne. We stayed in a one bedroom penthouse apartment for 5 nights at a rate of $241 per night. The apartment was great - split level with the bedroom and bathroom upstairs, living/kitchen/laundry downstairs. Room facilities were good - new and in good condition. The apartment was serviced daily. The room had a balcony but it was quite small and our view was of the cityscape was ok but not fabulous (looked good at night). The hotel itself is in a great spot - a 10 min walk to city heart or 30 seconds to the tram which run every 5 minutes. Pool and gym at hotel were ok - pool small and indoors (being a QLD girl I am used to huge lagoon-style pools at resorts) but fine if you just want to do laps. Didn't eat at hotel as so many restaurants around but the menu looked nice and good value. Only have one minor problem - and this is one I experienced at Medina Grand Sydney - I HATE the bath/shower situation. The shower is over the bath with a tiny glass screen which does not stop water from spraying all over the bathroom. Water pressure is also very poor from a tiny shower-head. A five star hotel should have superior bathroom facilities - at least they didn't have a shower curtain though - they are the worst thing ever. All in all the Medina Grand penthouse was fabulous experience - large, luxurious apartment in the heart of a very beautiful city.

"CBD Apartment - Nice Stay"
We stayed in a two bedroom, two bathroom apartment on the 10th floor for two nights (a Friday and Saturday) in September 2005. The fully serviced apartments on the corner of Queen and Little Bourke Streets are easy to locate and in the heart of Melbourne CBD. Security parking (charge) is available in a nearby car park with internal security access to the apartment lifts. The Reception staff were welcoming and helpful. We were assisted with our luggage and several calls to ‘housekeeping’ were attended to quickly and efficiently. Our apartment faced North (above Little Bourke Street) and had a good view. There were big view windows in the living room and one bedroom and a balcony off the living room. The apartment was spacious with a dining table for four, comfortable lounge seating, desk and fully equipped kitchen with oven, four hot plates, microwave, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, range hood and generous quantities of china, cutlery etc. There was a toweling bathrobe in each bedroom. Toiletries supplied were nice quality, there was soap powder for the washing machine, dish wash powder and liquid etc. Everything needed to ‘make yourself at home’. The apartment was air conditioned. The second bedroom with attached bathroom was internal and had no window. We had some access problems. The room operated off a key but the lift and car park used a plastic security card. We had to ask for a replacement plastic card on several occasions as it ceased to open doors. The gym and pool are great. Spacious gym and sparkling heated lap pool.

"Loved the Medina"
I stayed in the studio apartment in the Medina Grand, Melbourne and found it welcoming, clean and appealing. The atmosphere is great and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The apartment was spotless and very comfortable. The hotel is very quiet and although on a main road in Melbourne, suprisingly quiet. Located right in the heart of the city, it's only walking distance from almost everything. I got a deal off a discount website and found it great value for money at only $110/night. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Melbourne.
