"Very Nice"
The Residence Georgio was a great place to stay. It's just a few minutes from the Omonia subway station (easy walk). The hotel looks very nice from the outside and is very nice inside, too. The lobby might be a bit small especially when you're trying to check in and everyone else is checking out. We arrived at 11:30am hoping to check in. Check-outs were so busy we just checked our luggage at the desk and began our sightseeing. When we came back to the hotel at midnight we checked right in and everything was great.
The pool was closed for repairs but it must be an awesome sight of the Acropolis from the roof-top pool. We didn't use the fitness equipment but it was very nice.
We stayed on level 8 and had a king size bed that was very comfortable. The bathroom was large and had a jet tub and a jet shower ( very nice). You could even plug a U.S. curling iron in. If you did need a converter you could request that from the front desk. All staff spoke english.
It was an enjoyable stay and we would stay there again if we were ever in Athens again. I searched the internet far and wide looking for hotels until finding this one. Once I did I found the price to be cheaper through the hotel's website and so I booked directly through them. It's also a bit cheaper if you don't have the breakfast included. But if you want their breakfast it's about 20 euros per person (too much for me).
A cab to the airport was 30 euros. Allow yourself 45-60 minutes to get there. The airport is way out of town.

"Terrific hotel"
We had a wonderful stay at this hotel for 7 nights. The staff are very friendly and courteous. The rooms have extremely comfortable beds that are difficult to abandon. Three layers of curtains ensure that the light is completely blocked out and despite beng in a central location the rooms are sound proofed. The deluxe rooms have a splendid jacuzzi which is great to soak in after a hard days sightseeing. The hotel is a five minute walk from the metro and taxies are available all the time. Convinience shops, small restaurants and main shopping hub are close to the hotel.
Would recommend this to everyone.

"Nicest Hotel in Athens"
This is the nicest hotel in Athens. We got a great rate of 99 Euro a night and friends were staying a few blocks away at the Hotel Alexandros for 3 times as much and thought our hotel was a lot better. The rooms are amazing- we had a jacuzzi tub and shower with 7 or 8 shower heads, washing you from all angles. The room was super modern (we couldn't figure out how to flush the toilet or turn on the light for about 15 seconds) and it was super clean. I will definitely stay at this hotel again. It's centrally located, but a bit hard to find (even with a map).
I wish the hotels we stayed at all over Europe (which we paid 2 to 3 times as much for) were as nice as this.
Stay here! It's perfect!

"Spotlessly clean, superb pool"
We stayed at the Residence Georgio for a week in May/June 2007 and had a wonderful time. The hotel is spotlessly clean and our deluxe room was well proportioned and quiet. The roof top pool is simply lovely and, although some of the nearby rooftops could be prettier, offers good views of the city and Acropolis. (A fashion Magazine were sizing it up for a photo-shoot whilst we were there). All the major attractions are within a 20-30 minute walk (the Archaeological Museum is about two minutes away). Although we didn’t use them there are plenty of buses that run past the Hotel and the terminus for longer distances is just past the Museum. Metro sations are also within a short walk. Breakfast is served buffet style, being plentiful, hot and of good quality. The photos already posted are representative of what we found.
Poolside snacks are substantial and given the stunning location represent good value for money. The same can’t be said for the Hotel Restaurant ‘Café Mundo’ which offers overpriced and mediocre food and here is the main drawback of the hotel. If you are happy eating in bars or cafes you are spoilt for choice, if you want a restaurant near to the hotel there is only one option, the Petrovia; just past the main bus stops (about two minutes walk). Here you can get a good quality meal for a reasonable price- there really is no excuse for eating in the Hotel.
Like any big city Athens has its seedy side and although we always felt safe on the main roads, some of the side streets near to the Hotel are best avoided after dark (Just like in NY or London so don’t get too hung up on this aspect of our review).
One final word of warning, the guest book was full of recent comments that the pool hadn’t been open. All we can say is that is was when we arrived and it made our holiday. The Greek tourist season however runs from around June to September. If you are staying outside that period and want the pool it’s probably best to e-mail the Hotel and get confirmation that it is open.
So did we have a good time- yes; would we use the Hotel again, quite probably but we’d hope for a greater availability of restaurants nearby or a much improved and more realistically priced option in the hotel.

"Great place"
Very nice rooms, fabulous bath-rooms with jacuzzi, hotel-staff absolutely wonderful and helpful, great breakfast-buffet American-style, easy to get there with the tube, good location (a lot of restaurants, takeaway-places around), from the roof-top-pool you have a great view to the Akropolis. Would always go bach there!
