"Nice Surprise!"
After several days travel and staying in several different hotels, this was our last night in Spain. The was a great way to leave the country! This hotel is very near the airport, with a free shuttle offered! The rooms are large and very comfortable--we got a great rate on an internet special for only 70 euros! We would definetly stay here again! I would not recommend this hotel for tourist--too far from the center of Madrid.

"Good for travelers"
The Melia is very close (10-15 minutes) to the airport, and that may be its best asset. It is an "older" hotel inside with the charm of an old-fashioned lounge (old clocks; antique furniture on display). Service and staff were prompt and courtous. The rooms were comfortable. IThe hotel offfers two free internet stations. It also offers pick up and delivery to the airport, which is best when one leaves the hotel.(every half an hour) We had to wait 45 minutes in a hot day at the airport for a shuttle that was obviously delayed.
Due to its location there are no amenities nearby, except a rather nice lunch cafeteria across the street from La Quinta Hotel; I reccomend it. One may take a bus across the street (No. 146) that takes the traveler straight into the center of Madrid for one euro. This is definitely good news for a hotel located 30 minutes from the center by this bus service.
There is breakfast and dinner service in addition to cafeteria service--but take notice of the lunch across the street (mentioend above) for value at lucnh time.
Unquestionably, this is a hotel that is very convenient to people who want quick access to the airport. Book it through the internet only; one gets a good deal.
