"The perfect stay" Surely any previous poor reviews posted here must be a mistake. Having read these prior to us arriving i did have my doubts, these were soon squashed as we arrived on the day. Myself and my Girlfriend stayed for 3 nights in a deluxe room booked via the hotels own website. The price including brerakfast was a mere £118. Upon arriving we were greeted by a friendly and helpful front desk who happily answered any questions we had. The front lobby is bright and airy and not at all dated like some dark and grotty reception areas i have seen in the past. The room itself was fantastic. Spotlessly clean and huge in size with a reasonable ensuite attached. The king size bed was most comfortable therefore giving us 3 nights of well earned sleep. Free mineral water was provided daily and within 10 minutes of entering the room a basket of fruit was brought to our room (very nice gesture). The hotel has all the facilities you would expect, nice pool area ,which although a little on the small side is at least clean and attractive enough, bar and a couple of restaurants. In terms of loaction the hotel could not be bettered. This was one of the principal reasons of us choosing the Melia and we were'nt let down. Directly opposite the hotel is the KL monorail which will zip you around the essential areas quickly and cheaply! If monorails aren't your thing then within 10 minutes walk is a shed load of restaurants, bars shopping and entertainment ptions. Breakfast was included and has enough options for all tastes. Ok i have had better breakfasts before but i certainly would not hold this against what is a splendid hotel. In terms of Customer service, location, room quality and faclilites, the Melia cannot at this price be beaten. Ignore any previous bad reviews and take my word for it. If i happen to swing by KL again, i will be without doubt be staying at the Melia.

"enjoyed our stay" As part of a shopping group of 40 to KL we were pleased with the hotel, although because the plane arrived at 7am we had to wait for rooms to be available after noon. But no problem, put in security and off to be amazed by KL. Shopping was great and the excellent location of hotel made easy. Good advise by the staff helped with our trips and the limo service in front of the hotel was excellent and we enjoyed trip to fireflies. Restaraunts abound behind the hotel and every night was a food adventure, we did not get sick. Mono rail was in front of hotel and very convient. Taxis are good but drivers will overcharge you if given the opportunity. Ask the hotel staff for cost of trip and then bargain with taxi driver. We found the hourly rate excellent and varied fron 20 Ringgets to 40 Ringgets per hour but the drivers gave excellent trips to sights. The breakfast buffet was excellent and varied each morning. The beef bacon was tough, eggs perfect, plenty of fruit, bread/toast and other dishes. Did not need midday meal just a snack. Overall hotel was very good, clean, bed comfortable airconditioning just right and KL fantastic.

"Nice stay" Stayed 2 nights, upgraded by paying RMB30 more for Deluxe. Reception was very friendly and helpful. Room was a good size and nice except a little drafty from air-con vent. High speed internet worked well. Hotel is in a convenient location, lots of shopping just around the corner. Breakfast was OK. Special offer rate for Deluxe displayed at hotel counter can only be obtained if booked through a travel agent, was refused this lower rate when I requested for the upgrade to Deluxe.

Situated opposite Times Square shopping mall and right beside Imbi station on the Monorail and only a few stops along from KL Sentral station where the Airport train arrives/departs from. Within easy walking distance (about 7-8 mins) of the BB Plaza shopping complex (a massive mall with just about everything over many floors, connected to two major department stores and ALL aircondintioned! Also Ten Square, another up market mall on the other side of the road from BB Plaza. Best value are the Deluxe i Rooms which include free high speed internet with a pc and moniter built into the room. Hotel staff are quite friendly and all seem to speak English well. Breakfast is buffet style and there can be a bit of a queue if the hotel is busy. With so many eating places (and hawers stalls) close by there's really no need to eat in the hotel unless necessary. Mini bar, like most hotels, is pricey. Go to nearest 7 Eleven supermarket for beers and groceries at much less cost. This hotel, especially if rooms booked through one of the many dicount hotel operators, is good value for a central location within the Goldenn Triangle of centrak KL.
