"Pefect place for shoppers!"
I stayed there for three days and actually came back yesterday.I was a bit dissappointed at the hotel at first because my room was really very small and not overlooking the street.I think all single rooms are that small in this particular hotel. But I've been to some of the double ones where my friends were staying and they were a lot more spacious. The room was very clean and the bathroom was very nice. The hotel came in a very good prize,so good value for money.I found the hotel lobby very nice too.My only problem was that most of the staff didn't speak English and I certainly don't speak Spanish ,so it was kind of hard sometimes, especially when trying to order dinner over the phone. But the reception stuff are very nice and willing to settle all these things. The true advantage of this hotel is that it is so close to the Serrano Boulevard,a must place for shoppers like myself.I just loved the shops there. There were lots of beautiful clothes and in fairly low prizes.I didn't use the metro,so I don't know about that, but taxi fares are low in Madrid,it only costs about 5 euros to get from the hotel to Prado or Puerta del Sol and there's also a bus(number 51 I think) that stops very close to the hotel and goes to the so called historic centre of the city.I would definitely go back to this hotel,in fact I'm already planning on an extended holiday in Madrid in the near future.

"Good choice in Madrid"
Stayed here on business as close to our office. Great location, walking distance to lots of shops, restaurants, bars and transit options yet is in a very quiet location. My room on sixth floor , the "executive level", was quite large with king bed, large bathroom. If you pay for the "Royal Service" level you get at no cost breakfast buffet (so-so), bar service from 16-23h, minibar access (a beer, couple liquor bottles, water and soft drinks), business center use, etc.
I found that any staff I needed to speak with could handle English. AC worked well in the room, quiet as well. A good solid 4 star hotel, easy to get a good nite's rest.

"Nice hotel, good value"
I hadn't booked to stay here, I was originally at the Villa Real but had to move due to all of the noise from original hotel!!!
This wouldn't have been my choice but we were in Madrid on a busy weekend and it was all we could get on a Fri morning, I have to say I think it is a really good hotel, we had a junior suiite which had a seperate bedroom and living area and a massive bathroom!!!!! The rate was 250 euros a night which I thought very reasonable. The hotel is a little way out, we walked into the centre at night but caught a cab home.
The staff were very friendly and helped us choose restaurants to eat in, the bar was open every night when we got back and its a nice area to wind down in.
We had room service breakfast which was little disappointing as it wasn't warm enough and not a great choice.
The hotel is a little dated decor wise but overall I think it represents good value for money if you don't mind the walk into the centre.

"Loved it"
We stayed there for the weekend (two nights, friday to sunday) and really liked it, great staff, very helpfull, nice big rooms (do not understand the previous review...) and filled up minibar (refilled every day) everything clean and neat, no complaints there.
The restaurant's food was quite alright, absolutely nothing wrong with it, but there are a lot more cosier/more typical Spanish restaurants in the neighbourhood, so check'em out, you won't regret it!!! Breakfast was as it should be: a nice large buffet, hot and warm, great way to start your day!
We'll especially remeber that - 'though we had already checked out by noon sunday - they let us have a room for an hour or two at five o'clock in the afternoon, so that we could refresh ourselves a little, before heading of to the airport - wich came in very handy after walking around in Madrid on a very hot day (!) That's what I call great service
The hotel is situated practically across the American embassy in a classy area of Madrid (shoppers will love it as all the great and prestigious brands are on the great Serrano boulevard - one minute on foot from the hotel)
You see, it's kinda hard to think of a flaw, we had a perfect minibreak in Madrid, and the hotel was definitely part of the succes!!
