"superb hotel"
this was truly a five star hotel! on the outskirts of rome, it may put some people off, but it shoud'nt! the hotel shuttle coach is fantastic, always dead on time and because its a 54 seater, there is always room. also, if you want to be dropped off at the vatican when it is going to the colloseum, the driver will stop for you. the full buffet breakfast is the best i have ever seen! well worth paying in advance when you book. we were eating 4 or 5 courses for breakfast, skipping lunch and having dinner at the hotel at night! food is expensive at the hotel, but no more so than the rest of rome. we had a suite on the 4th floor, really beautiful and comfy. the staff are really nice, although english is sometimes not understood! there is a limo service for airport pick ups!! and its cheaper than a taxi! 45 euros. they also hire the limo for 4 hrs for 100 euros. this is worth it if you get tired and foot weary! you can choose when the 4 hrs is too, day or evening, go and see rome by night! i will be going back to this hotel in the future, there is still so much of rome to see! i was there for 5 days, and its not long enough!

"Loved the Hotel and City"
We stayed at this hotel for five nights in March 2007. The hotel was what we expected. We knew it would be far from the center, but knew they offered a shuttle service to the Piazza Venezia and Vatican. We used this service everyday and had no problems. The hotel was clean and the service was great. They have two shops in the lobby, which had good prices on souvenirs. We purchased the hotel taxi service from the airport to the hotel and then back to the airport for our departure. The service was great - hassle free and got to the airport on time. We bought the daily hotel breakfast upon arrival and were able to get a better price. Breakfast is good. Lunch and dinner at the restaurant is a bit expensive and the servings are small for what you pay, in my opinion. Use the shuttle service - if you dont, you’ll be paying too much for a cab - use the earliest departure 0800hrs and return at 0930hrs. You’ll have enough time to see the sights, shop, etc. Definitely would recommend this hotel to other travelers.

"Spectacular good value for money"
We stayed at this hotel during the Easter break in 2007. Rooms were booked well in advance (November 06) and cost 125 euros per night (incl. breakfast). This hotel is not in the centre of Rome but the 4 times a day (free) bus shuttle and the 15-20 EUR taxi rides makes it extremely good value for money (just compare it to other 4 stars in the city centre and do the maths). The bus takes around 15-20 mins to get to Piazza Venezia. A taxi will take around 10 minutes. Rooms were very clean, excellent sized, the usual Melia standards. Breakfast was excellent. For those who like sports, there is a massive sports centre nearby called the Empire: the hotel has a protocol with them so guests can use it free of charge. Even if you decide to go only for a run like I did, it is worth the effort. At the end of the day, given that this kind of trips is usually quite tiring (especially in Rome where there are literally millions of things to see) I quite enjoyed getting out of town in the evening for some chilled out moments.
