"Friendliest people in the world"
Absolutely outstanding hotel. Great room, great people great service! Location a little off and maid service lacked a little but the price made up for that. We will stay here again!

A lovely hotel in a great location. A boutique Spanish chain hotel - rooms are not large, but decor, furnishing etc throughout are first class. Staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Room service was provided well out of normal hours.

"All the right stuff"
Hotel Melia Vendome was a fabulous place for us to spend our week in Paris. We were concerned about some of the reviews being dated back to 2005, therefore, we are submitting our recent experience. The location of this hotel is superb. Very close to the Place de la Concorde and the Concorde metro station. This is in the 1er arrondissement/district, close to all the wonder of metro Paris. Every day, we were able to see the view of the major sights of Paris - the arc de Triumphe, Eiffel Tower, Obelisk and fountains as we went to and fro from the metro. At the end of a full day with tired feet, it was great to have the hotel so close.
We were in room 516, streetside. We asked for a non-smoking room. Very traditional lovely decor and a nice sized bathroom. Being in the city, the traffic noises were heard when we opened the windows in this unseasonably warm Spring. However, it was virtually soundproof with the windows closed. Since we were there before the air conditionaing was activated, we kept the windows cracked. We will always remember hearing the beautiful choral music on Good Friday floating through the air from the nearby church.
The staff was very cordial and helpful at all times, and our fears of not speaking French were set aside immediately.
We grabbed our coffee and croissant breakfast around the corner rather than eat in the hotel, so can't comment on the restaurant.
The elevators are the world's smallest, but we never had a problem with coming and going as needed. We would definitely stay at the Melia Vendome again.

"Affordable luxury in the heart of Paris"
Location, location, location. Just two blocks from the Concorde metro stop, the hotel affords an extremely strategic location in the heart of Paris in which to branch out and attack the city of lights. Also one block from the Ritz / Place Vendome. Very luxurious lobby and rooms. I stayed there on two separate occasions (but on the same European trip), once at the beginning for 3 nights and once at the end of the trip. The first three nights were in a suite (due to hotel overbooking error) and was, of course, very well appointed. The last night was in a standard room which was every bit as nice as the suite (only lacking the double bathroom and extra space).The lobby is very pristine with fresh flowers and various sitting areas. The bar is very posh with wood paneling on the walls giving it a very clubbish feel. The breakfast buffet and eating areas was very generous and included in the room rate.
The rate relative to the amenities, accomodations and location made this hotel an absolute bargain.
