"absolutely loved it"
Our first impression was: "WOW! What a nice hotel." We spent a great Easter weekend here and absolutely loved it. The staff were very friendly and utterly welcoming.
Most rooms are located towards the nearby creek named "Water of Leith" and you have to go down from the street level, which is located on the 5th floor. Our room was actually one floor above the reception level facing the street which was not too bad. The nearby road was a little bit noisy, not terrible at all though.
The location is very beautiful, we loved the neighbourhood. The nearest train station is Haymarket but we walked everywhere. It took us about 25 minutes to get to Waverley station which is the main railway station in Edinburgh.
The room itself was spacious, decorated beautifully and everything was neatly cleaned and maintained. The full Scottish breakfast, which was included in our room rate, was overwhelming. The buffet was big and the cooked food was just as delicious as the freshly prepared fruit. And the breakfast times were very long, too.

"A short break in Edinburgh"
We only stayed overnight to celebrate my husbands birthday but really enjoyed our visit to this hotel and Edinburgh.
Our room was very clean, all the staff we came in contact with were extremely polite and helpful and the breakfast was excellent.
The hotel was a bit further away from the railway station than we thought but after walking to and from Princes Street a few times we found a good route and eventually did manage it in 10 minutes.

"Awesome Breakfast"
This hotel is in a quiet location about 15 minutes walk from Princes Street, which is very welcome when you have had a day out in the hustle and bustle of the city centre. Our room was modern and although not huge, the space was well used. There is a wonderful choice of resturant - either formal dining or the Sports bar providing informal dining. Often there was a pianist each night which made the place feel special. The breakfast was inclusive and it was a buffet which was very well stocked. This was great as we did not need a lunch after that! Would stay here if I am in Edinburgh again. Staff were friendly and attentive.

"Very Accommodating Staff"
We stayed at this hotel as part of a Globus tour. The staff were very friendly and the facilities were cozy and clean. We stayed in room 747, which was reasonably quiet, but still faced the street and cars and busses could be heard pulling up to the hotel. The room was nice and cozy and the staff were incredible - very accommodating and friendly. They had internet access, which was helpful. The dining room was very nice and the breakfast buffett was delicious. The best part was the little pub they had on the premises. They served very nice beers in a cheery, festive atmosphere. Don't miss having a pint while you are there.
