MENZIES HOTEL
Just got back from a w/end stay here & I have to say it was one of the BEST Hotel breaks we have enjoyed for a long time !! The facilities are bettered only by the 1-class service we recieved from all! ( especially Brian the consierge and ALL the bar and waiting staff ) SUPERB !! Give yourself a quality break here ! It's well woth it! (written march 07) |

MR GEORGE MULLOY
Stayed 1 night Friday 13th Oct. After reading rave reviews I was very unimpressed with the location of this hotel, facilities on offer and the attitude of the reception staff. Arrived to be told bluntly that the hotel pool was out of order although we could walk to the Marriot to use thiers if we wanted to walk across one of the busiest streets in Glasgow (Argyle St) very handy!!
Got a room change from the one that looked directly into the window of another room and a prison like wall.
Best of all was the damage done to our car while parked in the "secure car park"
Would never stay at this hotel again and would not recommend it to others. My wife and I certainly wouldn't fancy walking back and forth to this hotel during the day never mind at night. |

"Perfect Birthday!"
Just spent 2 nights at this hotel and couldn't find a single thing to complain about! Easy to find from the M8, secure parking for free, speedy check in and friendly Glaswegian staff! Our room was spotless, large and very nicely decorated. OK so the street outside looks a little rough but there seems to be lots of development in the area. Easy to walk everywhere during the day and we got a taxi door-to-door at night. The concierge couldn't have been more helpful and was actually from the city which makes a nice change in Scottish hotels. We didnt use the pool but it was busy and looked great. Bar prices were reasonable for a 4* hotel and we demolished the buffet breakfast. This was a birthday treat to remember!

"Ideal for City Break"
Much closer to the Train Station than anticipated, only a 5-minute walk. Very clean, receptionist bright and helpful. Room a decent size (compared to similar 'City break' standards) and the breakfast excellent, lots of choice and fresh. No complaints at all for the money.

"Brilliant hotel"
We stayed here for Hogmanay last year. We booked a double room well in advance and got a great deal including breakfast. The hotel is one of the best hotels Ive ever stayed in. The spa facilities are fantastic. Great location as only a ten minute walk into the centre. Would definately stay there again.
