"Great location"
We stayed in the Taverna for 2 nights and found the staff to be helpful. They allowed us to check in 4 hours early. The rooms are very small but are modern and clean. The hotel is in a great location beside the shops, near the Metro and all of the sights. The negatives however was the bar area, which resembles a 2star hotel. The worst thing about the hotel was the breakfast. Very very poor, so bad in fact we skipped it the next morning. Breakfast was served in an enormous room that looked like a bad canteen. The food wasn't good. Ignoring the food though, the hotel was very nice.

"Location location location"
My wife and I stayed midweek Jan 8 --12. A very quiet time in the hotel. The room was spotless, yes small, there was a digital clock on the TV. The employees were willing and very helpful. The matress was not exactly a serta perfect but was adequate.Free internet and computerixed machine for tourist directions in the lobby. A great breakfast, but we could see a potential holdup with a lethargic coffee machine, It . A bonus for pastry afficionadas was day old leftover pastries cooked by their
award winning chef. the location was ideal.
It was nice to watch the travel channel which has not yet discovered Texas holdem.
A travel agency was located in the lobby. The agent seemed a little laid back but their tour representatives were great. t was T>G>Travel. Our guide was Noemi Hosszu Email --- Mobil ---. She is young, attractive responsive to your requests and is fluent in 5 languages. We avoid hotel restaurants even though they have an award winning one. We ate at the cellar , Restaurant Fallalsportions were gargantuan Split an order with your companion. The cellar was quite good and the music was soothing. Dunacorso was the first restaurant that ever charged for coat checking. Usually a tip is adequate, but Godzilla demanded an extra 100 florins.
Avoid changing money at the railroad station . The taxi drivers
accept dollars or euros. Make sure you negotiate a price before stepping in the cab. or you will be robbed. 12.50 to 15 dollars
is adequate for the ride tothe taverna.
Budapest was delightful and when I return I will once again stay at the TAVERNA.
PS the food at their coffee shop was very good.
