"Top Rate Hotel"
We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights over the Easter break with our two children (12 and 9 years). We were looking for a luxury hotel with a swimming pool that serves good quality food - well the Mercure Holland House Hotel certainly ticked all the boxes.
We wanted a family room and got a huge standard room with two very large beds, excellent shower/bathroom with fluffy towels and robes, LCD tv, good quality hairdryer, complimentary hot drinks tray and cold bottled water.
The swimming pool and gym were the childrens favourite and strangely quiet which was great for us! The pool changing rooms were very elegant and included towels and moisturising products to try.
The highlight had to be the meals. Breakfast was a banquet of anything you could possibly wish for to start the day and even the hot buffet was not the usual dried up eggs and bacon. Dinner was well worth paying for, we looked around at other prices in nearby restaurants and found little difference in cost. We are quite fussy when it comes to eating out and this was a real treat. The quality knocks other 4* hotels we have eaten in off the map. The childrens menu was also brilliant with 'real' food beautifully presented.
The staff were very pleasant especially to the children, nothing was too much trouble.
We would definately stay again, highly recommended.

"the staff is just out of this world- what a gem"
This new hotel is magnificent and we have never experienced such incredible personal service before. It was so lovely that it was hard to drag ourselves away from the hotel. Fabulous food and wines in the restaurants The Breakfast is the best in town, the diner a dream and was such a treat. Try to meet this chef. We were just expecting a few nibbles but all was so lovely. The headwaiter Jose is super! The pool is lovely, and all is much better then both Marriott's and more luxurious. Our kids are 11 and 13 and they enjoyed it with free internet and WIFI access which was great. The pool is wonderful we didn't use the spa but seems to be out of this world.. The rooms are very big which we thought excellent value. There were 2 double beds so the four of us shared. The Hotel team is strongly guest focussed and provide free mountain bikes to wonder around in the city which we thought was such a nice “green touch”.
I am extremely demanding but overall I would say this is probably the best hotel we have ever stayed in Bristol.
The location is 5 minutes away from the train station and excellent shopping. We all recommend that if you want better value and excellent service then try this Holland House in Bristol
