Hotel Information
Welcome the place near where Shakespeare was born...
In the heart of Stratford-Upon-Avon, this 16th century black and white gabled inn has been a meeting place of writers, actors and artists since the 18th century.
The Shakespeare retains much of its original architectural character but has also benefited over the years from sympathetic and careful modernisation. Behind its distinctive gabled façade, the hotel has 74 en suite rooms, including 3 four-poster rooms and 5 suites. Antique furnishings and period décor create a mood of relaxed elegance, while personal service and facilities combine to ensure guests want for nothing.
The hotel is full of character, with oak beams, creaky floorboards and open fires. All of the rooms are named after the plays and characters of William Shakespeare.
* Guests can browse newspapers in the lobby and order up room service around the clock. Staff at the 24-hour front desk can provide information on local sightseeing opportunities and parking is available on site.
* Traditional David Garrick Restaurant with exposed beams. Weekly-changing menu serves classic dishes with a modern twist, using fresh local and seasonal ingredients. Oak-beamed bar located at the front of the hotel, with a log fire in winter. Serves a range of drinks and traditional afternoon tea, with home made scones and clotted cream.
