"Again....great!" Stayed here November 9th. Booked very late and managed to get a reasonable discount on the room. The rooms here are very large as is the ensuite. Everything very spick and span and the staff are very friendly. There is no room service but the staff help you order in from local takeaways. The Lodge represents excellent value for money. I prefer the MacDonald Lodge and the main MacDonald hotel on Newport Rd to the 'supposedly' more upmarket St Davids Hotel. If you want excellent 4 star accomodation try the Lodge-if you're looking for 5 star opulance try the main MacDonnald on Newport Rd, both of these options knock spots off their competitors.

"Great Hotel - Great Value" Stayed here for one night in December, with wife and 17 year old daughter, whilst visiting the University. Unlike many reviewers we found it easily enough (in the dark & pouring rain) using Auto route and Sat Nav. Although not yet shown on either was able to pinpoint on SAT Nav from hotels's website details. Amazing value, we paid just £75 for one room with two large doubles. Room was spotless with with Plasma TV, internet connection and great ensuite. In the evening were able to walk to the Bay area in app.20 mins and the following day to the city centre in about the same time. Excellent buffet breakfast with wide selection of continental & cooked Welsh/English. Would definitely use again & recommend to others. Working out at £25 per head B & B, with free parking (a real bonus for a just off the city centre hotel) it was a real bargain and cheaper than the grotty B & B we stayed at on our last visit to Cardiff.
