"Great place to stay" We stayed in this hotel as part of a package deal on the 4th and 5th of May. The railway station, directly across the road from the front door of the hotel, suited are plans for further travel perfectly. The room was of a good size and sound proofing great, so that the close proximity of the station was no problem at all which is often the usual occurance. We had a very good included breakfast and would have no hesitaion in recommending this hotel.

"I liked it" Stayed there as part of a Globus tour; not fancy but staff was very cordial and location is great. Easy access to everything you'd want to see or do in Vienna.

Those white shirted bar girls Mercure Wien Westbahnhof is my favourite hotel in Vienna. Directly across the road from Westbahnhof railway station, at one end of Mariahilfer Strasse (the Oxford Street of Vienna?), with short underground ride into the centre, St Stephen's Cathedral, the Ring, etc. The white-shirted Dorint bar girls are the highlight of the hotel. The Zipfer beer is lovely and the Alt Wiener Rostbraten is gorgeous. There only seems to be one bar person and one restaurant waiter on duty in the evenings and I do not know how they cope with the pressure and still give such a great and warm service.
