"Classy, friendly service with world-class food" I always stay at the Metropolitan when I am visiting Toronto. And I definitely recommend it! -The location is great. It's within walking distance to Eaton Centre, the Toronto nightlife, China town, and if you really like walking, to the Bloor shopping area. -The front desk staff, concierge, housekeeping are always courteous and friendly. The concierge is knowledgeable about the surrounding area and makes excellent restaurant recommendations. -The restaurants in the hotel (Hemisphere and Lai Wah Heen) are world-class. Lai Wah Heen takes Chinese (mostly Cantonese) cuisine to a whole new level. If you are a foodie, you must go and try their innovations (truffles in their dim sum!). -The rooms are extremely clean and equipped with robes, great linens, and toiletries. I brought my own shampoo, but ended up using their shampoo/soap the whole time because it was so nice. -We usually get the room for business people, equipped with a big desk, Sony entertainment system, plenty of sitting room. So, this is a pricey (the only "con") hotel, but it gives you what you paid for and much more.

"Worn Carpeting, Excellent breakfast" This is a large hotel. I stayed on the 23rd floor and had a nice view of the city. The room looks nothing like the website portrays. The furniture was a little old and the carpeting needed replacing years ago. The bathroom was small but a spa robe was available. Bath towels were thin! Nightly, ice and bottled water is brought to the room by housekeeping. The closet is very small and could barely accomodate two days worth of clothes for two people. There is no gift shop in the hotel, but a convenience store across the street was open until midnight. Room service stopped at 11pm, we called 3 minutes before closing and were denied service and went to bed hungry. The breakfast buffet the next day was wonderful. Homemade waffles, fresh fruit and good granola started my day off right. The bell staff were nice and informative. This hotel was okey, but if had a choice, I would NOT stay here again. One exception - very close walking distance to the huge Eaton Cetre (Mall).

"Great Return Anniversary Visit" The Metropolitan has become a tradition for special getaways--and again we were overwhelmed with the excellent friendly service and amenities in the room. We tried the romance package this time which included breakfast and dinner, parking, and champagne and chocolates on arrival. Hemispheres Restaurant has been one of our favourites for a number of years and they continue to provide excellent meals with exceptional presentation skills. It is always a delight to study the artistic elements of the dish. Great breakfast selection as well. Exceptional fine linnens and very restfull sleeping accommodation and comfortable suite We will be back!!

"Top Hotel" This hotel is everything you could want for your visit to Toronto. Very friendly staff and a good fitness suite. The swimming pool and hot tub add to the package. If we return to Toronto we know where we will be staying!
