"Loved the Millenium"
We stayed at this property for four nights in February. The employees couldn't have been more helpful (with the exception of the restaurant staff). Upon arrival, the front desk was friendly, courteous and informative. My husband's a diamond member, so we were upgraded to a Junior Suite, with complementary breakfast vouchers. The room was wonderful - actually two rooms, with a plasma tv, luxurious king bed with soft, quality linens and a housekeeping staff that couldn't have been more efficient. The room had a view of Ground Zero - this didn't bother us at all. It is quite sobering but also uplifting in seeing the way New Yorkers seem to be able to handle anything they're given. My respect and admiration truly goes out to the people of this city - it is truly the greatest city on earth!
The consierge couldn't have been more helpful - any question you presented him with he answered, or at least tried. Elevators were prompt - rarely had to wait at all, going up or down. Yes, the lobby is small and the lounge could be a bit larger, but if this is the only thing wrong - please.
The location of this hotel is just fine - a subway station 100 feet from the entrance. The subways are quite safe and a great way to get around, but if you're subway-shy, taxi's are abundant all around this hotel. However, we found it difficult getting one - we were there when the weather was quite cold and they all seemed to be occupied! So the subway it was, with no problems at all. Being downtown, I agree with a previous review wholeheartedly - it is quiet down here and away from the craziness of Times Square - you couldn't pay me to stay there!

"New Years Stay at the Millenium"
We loved the Millenium Hilton. It's right across the street from Ground Zero which is very humbling but Americans need to be humbled every now and then right? Anyways, the hotel rooms are very nice and comfortable. The service is lacking. I'm sure its just the New Yorker way of life but they are always hurrying you and making you rush through, check in, check out, on the phone, etc. I wouldn't say they are rude but very in a hurry as all of New York is. We got tired waiting on the ball to drop on New Years so we just went back to the hotel and watched on TV and there were fireworks outside our window. It was great. |

"Great Hotel"
This is my second time at this hotel. The last time I stayed was April 2006. The Hilton is located right across from the WTC site and was renovated after 9/11, it has all updated fixtures and flat screen TVs. They have reopened the main entrance in the last year and the lobby seemed much more put together since the last time I was there.
The rooms are a good size by NYC standards and the view is tremendous (it’s interesting to see the construction of the WTC site). Its located next to the Fulton subway station and within three blocks you can get a subway to anywhere in NYC. My wife and I took advantage of the downtown location to explore some of the small museums in Lower Manhattan and had a great three days.
There are plenty of pubs and bars in the Financial District and on Reade and Chambers street, but it is very much an after work crowd.
I’m pretty self sufficient so I didn’t really have any contact with anyone who works there, nor did I need to, everything was very smooth.
I recommend it for people who have business in the Financial District and people who are looking at staying in a different part of NY.

"Well Worth It!!"
I went for a week-end in the city. I stayed on the 47 th floor with a spectacular view of the city both day and night the veiw is breath taking. I suggest a jr. suite its not that much $ for what you get. and you can have up to 5 people in the room with out paying extra per person. The front desk staff was amazing ,funny and gave honest advice. The minibar system is this hotel s weak point Dont take the key .The gift shop has an ATM that only despense $100 at a time so just walk to the corner and use that atm if you need MORE cash . here is a great tip parking is around $48-$58 a night at the hotel but if you are there for the week -end you can park on the street FREE. and week days there is a parking garage around the corner for under $15 a day if you get it validated at sysms. Also there is a great pizza shop across the street if you want a bite or on a budget. the indoor pool is pretty small ,but very nice one thing that stuck out to me was that for a hotel in manhattan it was exteremly clean. i will and i am staying here again. also sign up to become a hilton honors member and get specials and deals on rooms even in nyc.you can bring your ipod and play your i tunes on the radio cool i loved it you will too.

"awesome room, awesome view"
We had booked the room through Hotwire so we expected to get a broomcloset next to the ice machine. Surprise, we got a lovely room on the 53rd floor with a spectacular view of the Brooklyn Bridge. We sat at our window and watched all the lights come on at dusk -- it was more than amazing.
Our room was small but clean and modern. Large plasma TV, comfortable bed, Crabtree and Evelyn shampoo, conditioner, etc., wallsafe, and comfortable easy chair.
Staff could not have been nicer.
Even on the weekend the area was alive with street vendors and tourists bustling about. Many subway lines within walking distance. Broadway bus (southbound) 1 block away.
