Millenium Bailey Hotel London Kensington
I had stayed at the Millenium Gloucester Hotel in September and thought that the Millenium Bailey, at the same price, of the same chain and in the same street, would be of similar high quality. But I was thoroughly disappointed. In comparison to the Gloucester (I repeat, at the same price) the Bailey is rather run down, breakfast is poor and service is average. So, next time I shall go back to the Millenium Gloucester. |

"Would stop again"
We stayed for one night and this was booked as a last minute.com secret hotel. Our two rooms 116 and 122 were a good size, comfortable with a large bathroom that had a very powerful shower. The beds were very comfortable and room was quiet at night. We did not eat at the hotel as there are many cafes across the road for breakfast etc.Mini bar very expensive but no other complaints.Recommended.

"Overall, very nice..."
I spent 10 days at Bailey's and must say it was worth it.
I had the Standard Queen, which I think is the smallest room available. Having seen what's available elsewhere, both cheaper (often tiny and scary) and expensive (luxurious and very nice if prepared to pay over £200.00) I think the rate for my room was fair.
The bedroom was a very good size as was the bathroom. There was a writing desk with chair and an armchair. Some of the furniture was tired, greasy armrests and frayed fabric - if you looked closely, but the overall impression was nice.
I had asked for a quiet room so I did not complain that my room faced an interior space made up of fire escapes and misc. pipes etc. This made the room very dark. Even with all the lights on reading was difficult.
There was no noise from outside or from adjoining rooms. The bed was comfortable and I slept well. However, the doors to the rooms close with a very loud bang and if your neighbours come and go a lot then it can be annoying at night.
The location is wonderful.
Everything from a post office, dry cleaner, internet cafe, Waitrose, 24hr Tesco, bank machines, pubs, restaurants and a tube stop with acess to the 3 most useful lines are all just outside the hotel on Gloucester Road.
The pièce de résistance is the Paul's Café across the street.
I, too, heartily recommend Bailey's as good value for anyone seeking medium range accommodation in an excellent location.

"Excellent location and value"
This hotel is directly across the street from the tube - no additional walking , out the tube and across the street. You can take the tube directly from Heathrow to Glouchester road with abolutely no challenges. Vert easy and direct.
We stayed in the club room with a King size bed. Very comfortable, large and roomy for Europe. Excellent shower with good pressure. Only drawback is the tube in the bathroom has high sides and young children and persons with lower mobility ssues will be challenged. I received a few bruises on my lower extremities as I am vertically challenged (i.e. short). We were inside courtyard with no view but also no street noise. Good trade off in my opinion. Room was always cleaned very well.
Elevator is 2 person with luggage. Not unusual in Europe. Do not expect larger. Is a Hotel of it's age (older hotel with some wrinkles but lots of character). Staff at desk were extremely helpful. However, staff at Oliver's need a lesson or two in customer service. Go to the Pub across the street. Cheaper and more realistic of Britian and better customer service. Remember you need to order at the bar. when in a pub Always packed, a good sign! Check out TESCO's across the street. Avoid Italian restaurant on tube side of road in little mall. Over priced and not great food or service.
Easy access to all of London - Enjoy!

"fantastic london hotel"
Ihave to take this oppurtunity to write a review about this hotel. i came up to london for a weekend away with my mum, i chose this hotel because of the location and the other reviews we had read on trip advisor!! very handy site!!! We were not dissopointed, on arrival we were promptley checked in and also given a free room upgrade!! The room was beautiful, very spacious, clean throughout and the beds were incredibly comfy and came with a duvet!!. The staff were all friendly and very helpful and when asked the where abouts of certain locations gave more than helpful advice and even gave us a map which contained all the major sites and shops!!! What more could 2 ladies want!!! I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who wants a bit of luxury in a fab location at a good price. So much so that my mum and i are planning our next trip upto london!!!

"Great Hotel"
We stay in London hotels 1 or 2 times a year and normally end up in a very cramped room because we're on a budget. Needed a bit more space and comfort this time as now have a 4 month old baby but money tighter than ever! We booked this through lastminute.com as a 'top secret' hotel but I'd been looking at a lot of hotels and was quite confident from the description this was the one we were booking. Paid £156.00 for two nights.
Reception staff were great - efficient but very chatty and friendly so made us feel very welcome. Room was large - plenty of floor space even with a travel cot - and clean. Decorated in a traditional rather
than contemporary style. Bathroom was decent.
Didn't hear any noise, either from other rooms or outside.
Would definitely stay here again.

"Great Location!!"
Great location!! We were so glad that we were so close to the Gloucester Road tube stop, a 45 minute ride from Heathrow(Picadilly Line). It was easy to get anywhere and we were there 4 nights. Yes, it is older with some creaky floors - but it's London. It was CLEAN and the water pressure in the shower was nice and strong (always one of the tests for hotels), plenty of hot water, too. Large room (219) at the end of the non-smoking hall. Too late to go out to eat one night, the sirloin from room service was very good. We did go to a very good French restaurant that is within walking distance - La Bouchee (56 Old Brompton Road). The Salad Paysanne was so delicious - could have made a meal of it. But, we had the scallops and the haddock and both were excellent. Truly a delicious restaurant worth trying - Entree's plus salads totalled 47pounds, a little pricey, but really a nice evening out.

"Another Enjoyable Stay"
We've chosen Bailey's on our last 2 trips because we love the location and the hotel.
On this trip , even though we had booked thru Londontown and gotten an excellent rate, we were very pleased to be welcomed by the Guest Relations rep., Diane, and told since we were repeat customers and were staying 9 nights she had upgraded us to a Club room with full breakfast.
We were pleasantly surprised by the room, at least 400 sq.ft. and nicely furnished. As always it was spotlessly clean and more than comfortable. The duvets were far superior to those I have at home and I will be replacing mine!
We have always found the staff to be very pleasant and efficient. I have never passed a member of staff that I have not been greeted with a smile and a welcome.
The breakfast is extensive and good. The dishes are frequently replaced and kept fresh. Even the continental breakfst is more than adequate.
Guests are also given a discount in the bars and restaurants associated with the hotel.
The tube and bus connections, the nearby shops and services make this an ideal place for new visitors to London or to old hands.

"Loved it !!!"
Booked via lastminute.com and had a brilliant stay - the room was spacious, clean and comfortable and just as described.
Large bathroom with bath and shower was spotlessly clean, with fresh towels left each day.
Very convenient for the Tube, and the wonderful museums, nearby. Had an excellent time and it was certainly good value for money.
Front of house staff - where polite and efficient. The lounge was lovely with lots of period atmosphere- it was like stepping back to a bygone era.
Used a local cafe as featured in one of the reviews (next to the cleaners) and it was wonderful, build your own breakfast for 2 came to £7.50 including coffees -superb value !!!!!!!!!!!
Will definitely use this hotel again, if I ever return to this part of Kensington - loved it !!!!!!!!!!!!!

"Nice spot"
In London, the Millenium Bailey is a nice place to stay and great value. The tube is directly across the street with three different train lines connecting there, so you are never far from anything. There are several restaurants nearby as well as a 24 hour Tesco, which was very convenient. The room was very nice and staff was very pleasant and helpful. For the money, we were very happy with our stay.
