"Great service, beautiful dining room"
We stayed two nights at the beginning of our tour and then another night after touring Turkey for 9 days. Of ALL of our hotel experiences on the "tour," the Mina was clearly superior in terms of front lobby staff and a wonderful VALUE in terms of the total experience. Our first room assignment was on the lower level with less than ideal ventilation, but the room was quite clean and very well serviced. Our last night stay was in an upper floor room with ocean view, and that was A+ in total value for money return. The dining room with a wonderful ocean view is superb, but should have a clearly designated section for NON-smokers. But this is a problem throughout Turkey. We had dinner on our first night in the hotel dining room, and that was also great value for money and excellent food. The schnitzel was as good as I have had anywhere and the salad was geneous sized and very well presented.

"Great Location and Service"
We stayed at the Mina for 7 nights in January. We chose the hotel based on the positive reviews and reasonable rates. We weren't dissapointed - the staff were friendly and helpful, the room was nicely decorated and clean, the breakfast buffet was of good quality, and the location is perfect for walking to the major sites in the area. The only criticism we have regards the sound proofing. On a couple of nights, the guests in the next room returned late at night and we could clearly hear their conversation through the wall. Thankfully, we had ear plugs so it wasn't that much of an issue.

"Iit's all about the staff!"
Once again we stayed at Mina. Their staff is wonderful and for any first time (or more) traveler to Istanbul it is a good base, both from a central location as well as their helpful staff. They go above and beyond to help and give concrete suggestions for eateries and activities. A member of our party left his suitcase in the lobby when we departed for Sirince and Serkant, the front desk manager, took care of having it promptly sent to us. The Mina staff truly care about helping travelers and it is evident with every one of them. The rooms are nothing fancy but are quit adequate and comfy. I would stay there again.

"good, decent hotel"
stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. The location is superb, 5mins walk to the blue mosque and about 8 mins walk to the grand bazaar. The hotel is new and in very good condition. It is well equipped for a 3 star hotel. like most hotels in Istanbul the rooms are a bit on the small side. the breakfast is average nothing special but adequate with a good view of the sea. the hotel staff get the most merit they were very helpful and polite. In the foyer they have free internet access. The hotel is in a side street and about 5 mins walk you are on the main road where there are plenty of restaurants to choose from. the hotel is cheap and good value for money and would stay there again.

"True hospitality and grace"
We had been booked into the Cordial House, which was overbooked, and so we were moved to Antea Hotel. The people there were extremely rude and the accomodations terrible. We walked right across the street and got a beautiful room in a warm, friendly hotel with knowledgable staff, comfortable rooms, wonderful food, and the hospitality we have come to expect in Istanbul. We'll never stay anywhere else!

"Wonderful staff! Great location!"
We stayed at Mina for ten days last September and loved it. It's in a convenient location near the tourist attractions. Rooms were most adequate and immaculate. Baths were modern and ample. Breakfasts were typical Turkish fare with cereals added. View from the breakfast room was lovely. The staff is really what sets the Mina apart from "just any " hotel. They went above and beyond in every way. Sercant, a young gentleman who seemed to manage the front desk, was fabulous in his numerous efforts to be certain we were comfortable. His dignified good nature will long be remembered. We are returning to Mina this Sept. This time bringing friends and feel they will, likewise, be satisfied with Mina.

"Great hotel with professional and friendly staff"
I have just returned from a short break in Istanbul at the Mina Hotel. The hotel is very well located in walking distance form the major attractions, such as: The Blue Mosque and Aya Sofia. The service in this hotel is above and beyond hotel standards with the friendliest hotel staff I have ever come across in all my years of travelling.
As a travel professional I was very impressed with the high level of service delivery in this hotel. The staff was friendly and eager to please. The front desk clerk, Serkant, is the most professional receptionist one can meet. He was always pleasant and was able to accommodate all the guests' requests. Serkant and the entire team at the Mina are an asset to this hotel and thanks to them, my short stay in Istanbul was a memorable one.
Finally, the views from the hotel restaurant are breathtaking.
If you are looking for a 3 to 4 star clean, comfortable and well located hotel, the Mina is a must.
The breakfast and the coffee are not great. However, when in Istanbul, one should explore the many excellent restaurants this great city has to offer.

"Wonderful hotel for single female traveler"
I have been to Istanbul 4 times in the past 4 years, and I have stayed at Hotel Mina 3 times. (Once I found it, I could not imagine staying anywhere else in Istanbul.) And by the way, each trip I was a female traveling alone in Istanbul. The hotel is close to the main drag, but not on it so it is quiet. The front desk staff is first class, very engaging. When the airlines lost my luggage, the staff kept me posted on what they knew until the luggage was delivered to the hotel. When they arrange a ride to or from the airport, or a tour, there are no surprises. The ride is there on time and as expected. The rooftop restaurant does have a wonderful view. However, when I was there in the winter, they served the breakfast on a plate they bring to you, rather than a buffet. The hotel is very convenient to the Grand Bazaar. The Blue Mosque and that whole area is a pleasant walk downhill. The tram is a short walk from the hotel, and it's an easy ride to the waterfront on the tram. The bank and ATM are just around the corner from the hotel. Who could ask for more?
