An elegant recently-opened hotel situated in Alghero, one of the most attractive tourist resorts on the north-west coast of Sardinia. Set in a clean and well-kept environment, Mistral Hotel has got a bar and 25 rooms, all equipped with private bathroom, telephone and TV set.

The service entails bed and breakfast - either at-table service or buffet service - depending on the season. Customers can have their meal at one of those restaurants in the neighbourhood that have an arrangement with the hotel.

The family business is guarantee of a homely atmosphere and a unique kindness in dealing with the customer. As each room is comfortable and has a wide and roofed balcony, small and medium-sized cats and dogs are allowed, provided that they are well trained and that their owners keep a constant eye on them.

Mistral Hotel, with its own garden and private car-park, stands at a walking distance from Maria Pia Beach, indeed one of the most beautiful sandy beaches of Alghero, justly famous for its crystal clear sea and sandy hills stretching all along the coast as far as Fertilia.
LOCATION

An elegant recently opened Mistral Hotel situated in Alghero, one of the most attractive tourist resorts on the north-west coast of Sardinia, set in a clean and well-kept environment. The main sights include the old city walls and the seven defensive towers that still stand tall. The Porta Terra is also part of the old defensive system. It was built at the expenses of the Jewish community of Alghero.

Just 300 metres away from Mistral Hotel, Maria Pia sandy beach is one of the most beautiful beaches of Alghero. The crystal clear sea, the white sand as well as the wonderful pinewood are the main landmarks of this tourist destination.

A real natural marvel, the pinewood - transplanted about sixty years ago in order to protect the nearby fields from the sand - and the spontaneous vegetation of junipers, lilies and euphorbia have been a noteworthy tourist attraction for years.

"Great for quick break"
Quick break organised by husband - worried before went but really pleased with Sardinia and hotel. Hotel bit of a walk from town but quickly got used to local transport and enjoyed the bus rides. Longest we had to wait was coming out of town about 9.00 pm - half hour wait and bus pretty full - but at least it arrived. Hotel very clean and friendly. Room small and balcony at back overlooking residential who were a bit noisy early in am, but preferred it to constant traffic noise. Breakfast quite adequate. Market well worth a visit - just down the road toward front - on Wednesday am, goes on for miles. Not usual tacky tourist stuff. Lunches in Alghero really great value especailly Il Ghiotto - cellar restaurnt near the fish restaurant opposite where you get boat to the grotto - real good value. Boat to grotto good - but don't forget the 13 euro doesn't include entry to the grotto - that's another 10 euro - but it's all well worth it. Got train into Sassari - good insight into their train system - reliable but in need of upgrading, although clean - just looked like they were due to be scrapped! Asked for help finding 'centro' and people really friendly. All in all and great break and only 2 hours flying time away.
