"Modern Hotel Stay"
This was a very nice hotel that is just down the street from Pere Lachaise cemetary. At 72 euros a night, we had a nice double room with a pretty marble bathroom. The room was clean and the reception was friendly. I have no complaints and I would definately stay here again.

"Modern Hotel near Pere Lachaise"
Located near the Pere Lachaise cemetary and in a more residential area of Paris. Close to metro stop, which makes it a couple of stops away from nearby Oberkampf and Le Marais quartiers, which are really interesting neighborhoods, if you want something other than the overcrowded tourist locations. The hotel itself may be small, but more importantly, clean and comfortable. The marble bath is a perk and the area isn't noisy, so there's no sleep interruption. And nearby boulangeries have awesome pastries and croissants. I do recommend this place for people interested in something off the beaten path.

"Loved this hotel (near Cimitiere Montmartre, not Pere Lachaise!)"
We had a very nice time at this hotel. The architecture is charming and a bit funky, like many hotels in France which were built before the era of electricity. There's a small winding carpeted staircase going up to all five floors, which is helpful because the tiny elevator is just big enough for three people (or two with bags) and offers somewhat unpredictable service. Our room on the fifth floor had a marble-tiled bathroom and views of the street scene on Rue de Clichy through nice big windows (the balconies are not for standing on, though!). A winding carpeted hallway led to the room and there was a nice deep bathtub great for soaking after a long day of sightseeing. (Note: the hot water tends to run out by midmorning on weekday mornings, peak hours for business guests - if you don't have to shower in the morning, evening showers and baths are more likely to have an abundance of hot water.) There's a cozy little salon on the main floor where a pleasant staff serves continental breakfast (croissant, baguette, coffee, hot chocolate, tea and orange juice). We found that the breakfast saved a significant amount of money, and the room price was already a bargain for the location (right near the Place de Clichy metro with easy access to all of Paris, and easy walking distance to the shops and amazing restaurants of Montmartre). Vegetarians must try the delicious offerings at Au Grain de Folie, an easy walking distance across the bridge and uphill, run by a single mom and her family. Altogether a wonderful experience.
