"What a pleasant experience!"
My boyfriend and I really enjoyed this hotel! The staff was very helpful, friendly and attentive. They had no problem speaking English and supplied us with helpful tips and maps about the area. They pointed out some beautiful restaurants, parks, up-scale shopping and museums that were within short walking distance. Although the lady at the desk admitted that Malaga wasn't known for its beaches, she DID recommend some great spots nearby that would be an alternative option. The rooms were spacious, clean, and comfortable, and it was one of the few hotels on our trip (there were 6) that had a king size bed instead of two twins pushed together! An added little treat: complimentary windshield cleaning in the parkade below the hotel-not a huge thing, but a nice little feature, nonetheless! We couldn't say enough good things about this place, and would highly recommend it, for the value!

"Perfect stay"
We spent our last night of our Andalusian 1 week trip in the Monte Malaga Hotel in Malaga. Couldn't have made a better choice. We asked a double room with an extra bed. Which was perfectly arranged when arriving. The extra bed was of a very nice quality (I can tell you other stories). Very recent hotel (May 2005), perfectly clean and comfortable rooms (nice size). Friendly staff at reception and bar. On other websites some travellers consider the distance to the centre as a minus. Count on about 10-15 minutes to the centre through an area which seemed perfectly safe to me. And after all, one should discover a city… walking! If I had to mention a minus, it would be… the Cava at the bar which isn't of the best quality… but cost only about 2 Euro for a glass. Malaga has surprised us a lot. It is an authentic and above all human city, as opposed to the hypertouristic Costa del Sol. We were there on a Friday night and I must say the centre was one big bustling fiesta! Conclusion : a very comfortable hotel in a very pleasant city!
