"Far more than a 4*" The service in this hotel was fantastic with lots of staff in traditional dress who cant do enough for you. Confortable rooms with great views and a good pool and gym but it really was the service that made this hotel seem far better than its 4*. A little out of the city but a great location near the river and a good shuttle service to the centre of town. if you can get booked on the dining cruse on the hotels traditional rice barge is a must for great food, a taist of several traditional entertainments, a fantastic experience and views of the city for a reasonalble price (about £27pp which may be an expensive meal in Bangkok but for GB travelers a really great experience for a reasonalble price). I will stay here agin when visiting bangkok.

"excellent hotel" we stayed at the Montien Riverside for 3 nights and spent 2 full days in Bangkok. the hotel is not in the middle of the city and you have to make the journey into town each day. you can book the hotel shuttle which stops at the Skytrain, we did this both days and found this great. we got taxis back to the hotel in the evening and these cost between 70 - 80 baht !!!! - very cheap. so the fact the hotel is out of town is not a problem, although the river views are not as pleasant as they perhaps are up river. the hotel staff are excellent, traditional dress, love the doormans outfit, they are all very good and cant do enough to help you. the hotel room was very comfortable and great for our stay. we didnt use the pool area so cant comment. we ate in the hotel 2 of our 3 nights, perhaps another drawback of the hotel that there are not any restaurants close by. but the food was great, we ate in the chinese on the 4th floor and also the cafe on the ground floor, both meals were really good with attentive service. we didnt have breakfast. the bar area is nice for a quiet drink, although there is a band with a woman singer, who would struggle on X Factor!! we enjoyed this hotel and our stay in Bangkok.

"Fantastic Hotel" What a fantastic hotel. Luxurious and very clean. Room and bathroom were decent sizes and very clean. Pool area, gym and spa areas were great too. This was our first stop on our way to Sydney, New Zealand and San Francisco, and we were not disappointed. My husband had his wallet stolen at the airport and the staff could not do enough for us. They sat down with us, helped us cancel all the cards and arranged for a car and interpreter to go with my husband to the police station to file a report - I cannot praise them enough. The only negative I can think of is that the location is not great as it is right out of town so unless you want to take a taxi or use their free shuttle to their sister hotel into the main city, there is nowhere else to eat apart from the hotel which can get expensive. Great restaurants though - lots of variety and great lounge bar to sit with a nice glass of wine. Would defintely visit this hotel again.

"Very Quiet & Beautiful Views At Night" Enjoyed our stay here. We didn't do the breakfasts at the main Cafe however, opted for the bakery food on the first floor - much cheaper in the long run, and just as filling. Though, it is quite a distance from most major malls this hotel makes up by offering a free shuttle service to the piers/sky train and to downtown at regular intervals. if you're looking for something quiet - this hotel is the one.

"A nice surprice." We read some of the reviews at this site after we had booked this hotel. And we started to be a bit worried - had we made a mistake. Fortunately, there were no reasons for our worries, this hotel is just fantastic. Nice big rooms, well equipped, excellent staff and a top restaurant. We eat both breakfast and lunch in the cafe, and we still remember them. A lot of choices on the buffet, and all we tried had an delicious taste. The only disadvantage is a possible disadvantage, but always taxis available - so for us this was no problem. We'll definitely stay there next time we are in Bangkok.

"Excellent service" This was only a 2 night stay as we had tavelled from Dubai and were en route to Phuket. The hotel is a little outside the main centre of Bangkok but a taxi will take you down there in no time. The room was very clean and comfortable and check in was quick and efficient. There is a pool on the 6th floor which was welcome as the temperature was very high. The staff and service in this hotel was, in our opinion, excellent. We had dinner in the main restaurant and selected the buffet menu on both occasions. Really good value, plenty of choice and the food was delicious. The staff in the restaurant and the bar areas were superb and we were very impressed with that. if you don't need or want to be right in the very heart of the city then this is an excellent choice of hotel.
