"More than Your Money's Worth" You get more than your money's worth here. We ordered online well in advance on a holiday and never confirmed. Even though we arrived late in the evening, our room was available, just as we had ordered, with the easiest of check-ins. This is rare in Mexico. The rooms were quite lovely, with very high ceilings and gorgeous balconies. The beds were a bit firm by American standards, but this is the preference in Mexico. The cleanliness was perfectly in line with American high standards. And the service was that of a 5 star hotel. The location was excellent--just a 2 block walk to the center and far enough away from the noise. We HIGHLY recommend Hotel Morales and we'll stay there again.

"Great location, loud piano" We spent a week at the Morales. The location couldn't be better. Buses from the nearby plaza run all over the city, some of Guadalajara's best restaurants -- like the justly famous and always crowded La Chata -- are within a block or so, and it's easy walking distance from the city's historical sites. The staff is welcoming and pleasant; all the desk staff speak good English. The hotel has been elegantly refurbished; the rooms are comfortable, if not luxurious (there was no writing desk in our room, for example; elegance has been put a little ahead of practicality). Our room, 206, was in an interior courtyard and away from the noisy streets. An airconditioner in the room cycles rather loudly but cuts any ambient noise. The only drawback to this excellent place: a pianist who plays at length, loudly, and not very well on the lobby floor.
