The hotel is surrounded literally on all sides by many of the sites mentioned in the Christian Bible such as the Garden of Gethsemane, the cave of the Lord's Prayer, the Tomb of the Prophets, and Bethpage. Indeed, the perimeter wall of the Ascension site of Jesus touches the southern wall of the hotel. Famous churches commemorating these events are within easy walking distance such as the Pater Noster, Dominus Flevit, the Church of Mary Magdalene, the Church of All Nations, and the Tomb of the Virgin. A walk to Lion's Gate in the Old City takes about 15-20 minutes via the Garden of Gethsemane. The view along the way is stunning. |
