My stay at the Mozart
I was a single traveller that stayed in this hotel for one week! The hotel is in an excellent position for trams to the city or other parts of Vienna. Also the metro is only 5 minutes walk away. When I walked into the hotel the first time it seemed very grand!! However I was met by a very unhappy man behind the desk for whom it seemed all to much for him to find me a key for my room. there were lots of huffs and sighs and as for a smile - forget it. Other reception staff through the week were really helpful though and spoke excellent english and they smiled! My room though was a slight dissapointment i have to say. It was spotlessly clean but there was a ciggarette burn in the carpet (in a non - smoking hotel), and the carpet was becoming a little threadbare and also you could see where everybody had walked over it over the years as there was faint black marks in the passage ways. The bathroom had an excellent shower, but no shower curtain!! So i just had to flood the bathroom every night and then mop it up with the towels. As the week went on my room became dustier and dustier until when i finally left i could have wrote my bank account number in the dust. The carpet was also not vacumed all week and my drinking glass was also not changed all week!! Towels were also only changed when i dumped them on the bedroom floor. I had a great big double wardrobe though, lots of room to hang my clothes, but only three hangers. On the good side the food was good and there was plenty of it. The waiters were very friendly and I always had great fun at breakfast time. Also breakfast was until 10am so you didn't have to get up too early on your holiday. And checkout was until midday so there was no rushing around on your last day. The hotel also held onto your bags after checkout for the day at no extra charge which I thought was very kind of them. At the end of the day I felt that if the rooms were better serviced and in better condition I would have had value for money. But for a few days stay I am sure this hotel would be great just for it's location and the food. |

Below expectations
Mozart Hotel has a very good location (it is well linked to the local transport system) and large rooms. Unfortunately, the rooms are not cleaned very well, the towels are not changed often and the breakfast doesn't offer so much. In my room the wash-hand basin and some light bulbs were not working properly. |

very friendly service
Central location only steps to the metro and train station. It has a historical building. The hotel offers comfortable rooms with basic amenities. I liked the breakfast. The hotel is not so luxurious but very good for its price. The best thing about the hotel is its friendly and helpful staff! I really enjoyed at my stay. Recommended! |

"Can't beat it for friendly service and location!!!!!"
Had the pleasure of visiting Vienna several times this past summer, and always stayed at Hotel Mozart. Great location - only a 5 minute walk from the metro, and right next to Franz Joseph Bahnhof (which serves Austrian destinations, as well as Czech Republic). The rooms were nice, clean and comfortable. However, it was the staff who truly made each of my visits memorable. They were very professional, and able to help one with transport, restaurants, entertainment, etc. They were multilingual, making each check in/out a breeze. If you go (and you should!!!) please say hello to Denise, Marion and Thomas (at the front desk) for me!!!

"Excellent location and Value"
This hotel is not luxurious but is amazingly good value for money. I found it clean, quiet, and my room was a good size. The breakfast was more than adequate although an opportunity was lost in having pop music rather than Mozart playing.
The best thing though about it is its location, being less than five minutes walk from the U Bahn, right beside a tram stop, and next to Franz Josephs Bahnhof. I found I got back from the Staatsoper door to door in 15-20 minutes in the evening.
Provided that your expectations are not excessive, I strongly recommend you book this hotel, and spend the money you save on visiting the many cultural attractions in Vienna.

"Great value in an expensive city."
This hotel is located next to the Franz Bahnhof railway station and about two blocks from the nearest U-Bahn (subway) station. There is also a tram stop located just across the street so this hotel is very accessible to the Grable (1st District "Old Town"). We stayed at this hotel, because most of the popular hotels were already booked up this weekend due to the Vienna marathon taking place. The hotel is somewhat plain, but does have charm. One interesting historical note is that the American troops used this hotel for their lodging right after WWII when Vienna was an occupied city and divided into quarters.
Upon arrival, we checked in with the friendly and helpful front desk staff and then took the small elevator up to our room. The room was large by European standards, but appeared dated in appearance (i.e., wallpaper and carpeting looked old). Our room had two beds with good matresses and there were two large windows in the room overlooking the street below. The room was clean, but the lighting in the bathroom was dim. The breakfast was very adequate and had many items, hot and cold, to offer. The hotel is located about 20 minutes by tram and 10 minutes by U-bahn to the Old Town. Overall, the hotel exceeded our expectations and represented a great value in Vienna.
