LOCATION

Langkawi is just 50 minutes flying time from Kuala Lumpur and 30 minutes from the island of Penang. The island group lies just 30 kilometres from the mainland port of Kuala Perlis near the Malaysian Thailand border and the ferry trip takes just 45 minutes.

Mutiara Burau Bay is just 15 minutes drive from Langkawi International Airport and 35 minutes to Kuah Jetty. The resort occupies eight hectares of natural forest located between the foothills of legendary, Mount Machincang and scenic Burau Bay.

The resort is ideally situated at the base of some of the oldest mountains in Asia. Here at Burau Bay the rainforests meet the sea and provide a pleasant habitat where guests and native animals live in harmony. These coastal rainforests are believed to be some of the oldest in the world.

This resort is an excellent location for families and also for couples who appreciate refreshing solitude in a small property with excellent international standards and professional service.

While it is impossible to build a resort and not make some impact upon the environment, every effort has been made to create a resort that blends harmoniously into its natural setting. All plants and animals are protected on the property and many more species can be found in the forests and along the beachfront. Guests are encouraged to discover and learn from nature while here and the staff are pleased to help guests 'open their eyes' to the many natural assets of Burau Bay.

Langkawi Cable Car
One of Langkawi's latest attractions is the exhilarating cable-car ride that offers a panaromic view of Langkawi and the neighbouring Kedah province and southern Thailand. The cable-car climbs 2.2km up a 42 degree angle above a rainforest which is more than 350 million years old.

Oriental Village
The Oriental Village offers a collection of 30 luxury shops and restaurants in a lakeside setting. Dine in Malaysia, Japanese, Korean, Chinese and Thai restaurant with live entertainment.

Telaga Tujuh (Seven Wells)
Local folklore tells that this is a favourite playground of fairies. It is not difficult to imagine this with a breathtaking view of seven natural pools which are connected by a river flowing down in a series of cascading waterfalls giving a most serene and uplifting surrounding.

Summer Palace
Built for one of the locations in the filming of the movie "Anna and the King", this summer palace is now a popular spot for visitors who want to re-live the actual site in the making of this classic.

MUTIARA Burau Bay offers guests a variety of excellent dining choices, all in a relaxed and casual ambience with warm friendly service. Our resident band will entertain guests as they enjoy their meals.

Seri Mutiara Restaurant & Terrace

Part of this restaurant opens up to a terrace by the pool. Guests can enjoy soothing views of the Andaman Sea, resort gardens and pool, while making their selection from the numerous offerings of local specialties and international favourites - buffet style or a la carte.

Opens from 7am to 11pm daily.

Seashell Beach and Cafe

Watch the beautiful sunset while you enjoy a drink under the swaying palm trees. Feel the caress of the sea breeze as you listen to our resident guitarist play. To complement the magnificent view and relaxing atmosphere, this beachside cafe serves snacks and main course meals.

There is an adjoining play area for children, giving parents a chance to enjoy their evenings. Opens from noon to midnight.

Oyster Bar and Lounge

Get in the mood to relax at the cosy lounge located next to the restaurant and swimming pool. Guests get to enjoy a cocktail of their choice or try a variety of deliciously concocted local fruit juices.

Opens from 10am to 1am.
