"Great location, great value"
The hotel called "Comfort Inn" at the Rue des Abbesses in Montmartre, is a real find. First, the location is exceptional. Two blocks from the metro station, the street is quaint and full of restaurants, bars, grocery stores, and shops. A true slice of Paris. From the metro station walk up another couple of blocks and you can catch the suspended cable car to Sacre Coeur. The hotel itself is plain, but very clean with good beds and pillows. The shower is great, with real water pressure (I was told it's Montmartre). Although their breakfast is nothing to brag about, the hotel sits on top of a great little restaurant with fantastic coffee and baguettes. Of course, it's cheaper to eat in the hotel - about seven dollars/day for breakfast - and you can eat as much as they have. The hotel clerks at the desk speak English and are very helpful with directions and suggestions for restaurants. The area, of course, is enchanting.

"Great Location"
The room was tiny (7ft wide) and there is no elevator, but we couldn't have asked for a better location. Just two blocks to the Moulin Rouge, a few blocks to the Sacre Coeur, two blocks to a tube, two blocks to a bus stop, Open Bus Tour Stop, grocery store, etc. Right outside the front door is cafe after cafe, bakeries, souvenier stands, newspaper stands, fruit stands, etc. etc. etc. We could have spent the entire vacation on that one street. lol The staff were all very friendly and spoke perfect English. They even arranged for a very inexpensive shuttle bus to take us to the airport at 6am. The room was very clean but the bed was a little lumpy and the towels smelled a little odd. Other than that, it was great. Breakfast was croissants, french bread and coffee. Not bad but you can get better at any of the cafes right outside the front door.
