"Good Room; Good Price"
We stayed here in mid-January, 2005 and found our $70/night room to be a good price for what we received. Our room was on the 8th floor and faced snow-capped Mauna Kea and Hilo City. There are two swimming pools and in the shallow bay water immediately adjoining the hotel property we could see colorful tropical fish. The room was not fancy but was clean and well-furnished - and had no odor problem. Seemed fine to us.

"Home on the Island"
If you're looking for a place to relax with all of the local flavor within walking distance - this is it. Friendly people, a nice pool on the ocean side and everything necessary within walking distance. The grounds are beautiful and I liked the off the beaten path effect. My 12 year old daughter was in heaven too - she got to explore the rocks and water life or swim - we were totally happy there at our little home on the Island and didn't have to deal with any crowds or demands. It's peaceful and serene and that's exactly what I needed to complete my trip.
