"Characterful hotel, great location"
We stayed in this hotel for 5 nights and would recommend it to anyone visiting Nimes. The hotel was good value and had bags of character. It felt good to come back to such a place and we spent more time in this hotel than we did in any of the others that we visited. The courtyard with its exposed staircase was a great entry and our room had a magnificent painted beamed ceiling. The room was spacious, the ceiling 4 or 5 metres high and had plenty of space to unpack (my girlfriend's) clothes. (There was space to spare...) The staff at the hotel were friendly and recommended a fine restaurant in central Nimes. We weren't initially going to spend so much time in this town but the quality of the hotel convinced us to stay. We found many little restaurants in the winding streets and hidden squares of the old town. At first glance Nimes seems quite small but everything's densely packed and I was glad to have stayed an extra couple of nights here to explore it. I'd happily recommend staying at the New Hotel La Baume.

"Very nice hotel with central location"
Located in an old mansion, this is a lovely, atmospheric hotel bang in the middle of Nimes, superbly located for shopping, restaurants and the famous roman remains. There's even a market at the end of the road. Nimes is a great place to spend a few days with plenty to see and do in the city and beyond. Staff were great and helped us out very willingly when our car was broken into by arranging for a repair with our car hire company (our French wasn't quite up to it). They lent us stuff to do a temporary repair as well. Very friendly place overall, is Nimes. Breakfast is 10 euros each and is quite basic, but you eat it in the small courtyard which is charming. (Don't worry you can eat indoors if you prefer or if it rains) Our (standard) room was small but nice enough. TV and mini bar plus a bath and shower. The superior rooms looked great. Don't expect a view though as this is in a central location. When we were there, it was very humid and so the A/C was essential. No car parking but the secure public parking is only 150 metres away and costs 7.80 euros a day. We left our car there overnight with a smashed window with no problems

"Fabulous"
We stayed Sat. 24th February. I understand that the Hotel is now completely refurbished. Room 309 was a twin, as per website. wooden sink, clean lines and welcoming. perhaps a little hot at night so turn down radiator - we opened the window and the Sat. night revellers could be heard!! Staff all spoke excellent English, very very helpful. Nice Bar, lovely area for breakfast. Close to the Gambetta and third bus stop for Airport Shuttle Bus. Very pleasant.

"Helpful from the start"
From arrival at the airport on Saturday to departure on the Tuesday the stay was great. Taxi to hotel about 30 euros. Staff at hotel friendly and helpful for all three nights. Continental breakfast was fine with all food and drink fresh and in superb setting. Rooms not huge but nice and clean, cleaned well each day. Great location to set out and see Nimes, everything within 20 minute walk. Plenty of places to eat and drink within 5 minutes walk. Can't think of a bad thing to say about the place.

"Trendy and romantic"
We booked this hotel based on previous Tripadvisor reviews and absolutely loved it! The decor in our room was unusual... it is a very old building and our bedroom had a high ceiling with beautiful exposed wooden beams and huge windows. The view was just into a narrow street but that is what the old town of Nimes is made up of. There is a central courtyard which is fabulous. Breakfast was in a side room with a vaulted ceiling and was basically a buffet with plenty of little pastries and fruit / yoghurt / cold meats etc. The staff were very pleasant and helpful, and for those of you limited in the french speaking department, the people at reception spoke excellent english. I wouldn't pay 120 Euros for this hotel as it is, in spite of the funky decor, a three star hotel. However, we got a special winter offer of 90Euro bed and breakfast and this was very reasonable. It is also right in the centre of Nimes old town and walking distance from all the main sights. I am not sure how easy it would be to find parking though. The bus from the airport stops less than 5 mins walk away (3rd stop). By the way, we also went to an amazing restaurant called Restaurant des Artistes, 22 rue de l'Etoile... highly recommended!!
