Located in the heart of Singapore's Chinatown, the New Majestic Hotel is a stunning new Design Hotel that has to be seen to be fully appreciated!. From the period lobby to the dramatic swimming pool, the hotel offers a mix of vintage, customized chic and groundbreaking designs.

The hotel's 30 rooms are all designed by emerging Singaporean artists and are in 4 room types - Mirror room, Hanging bed room, Aquarium room or Loft room - and offer all modern amenities including complimentary broadband internet access and BOSE stereo.

New Majestic Hotel is located in the heart of Chinatown- the New Majestic Hotel features an emphasis on strong design- local culture and the Arts.

ROOM AMENITIES

* Hotel is a stunning and eclectic mix of heritage chic. 30 Unique Rooms Each of the New Majestics 30 rooms will be different- from the mix of vintage and designer furniture through to the customized baths. Room highlights include suites with private gardens- attic style rooms with loft beds in six-meter high ceilings.

* There will be a mix of four key types of design rooms; The Mirror Room where the design highlight is continuous ribbon of mirrors that begin on the walls- climbing up and on the ceiling- and returning to the ground to form a bedhead Watch and be watched The Hanging Bed Room where murals span whole walls- and are artistically integrated with the space of the room. These murals form the bed-head behind a modern re-interpretation of the classic four-poster bed. The Aquarium Room - With the bathroom usually tucked away in a typical hotel room- the Majestic now celebrates bathing through a glass-encased central bathtub feature in the middle of the room. Upon entering this room- the glass bathtub Aquarium is a visual window to the sleeping space- balcony and views beyond. The Loft Room - Whether lounging on a designer couch or soaking in the twin vintage tubs- the loft room merges sensuous and relaxing activities in a singular dwelling space

Nice and funky hotel. Great pool and the rooms are cosy, but look very trendy. The location is OK.

Taking the taxi from Changi to NEw Majestic Hotel would probably solicit a naughty smile from the driver. Not to bad for a former brothel turned fab property (They said that the hotel is on a street interestingly nicknamed "mistress street) Anyway, the lobby was pretty happening and quite a marvelous design (but if youre the marble and taupe kind of person, this is not a place for you) Staff was very warm & friendly (even calling a limo for us which is practically the same cost as the regular cabby, not bad going to the budget terminal in a mercedes s class limo.. oh the irony) The room had psychedelic female form as a headboard and a flat screen tv at the foot of the bed. I just felt that the lavatories and showers should still be in a separate room... but i felt the best part of the room (aside from the free keihls products) was the fab outdoor tub. Small lap pool if you want to be watched from underneath at the resto. Breakfast was a humble selection of east and west though dont expect any mega-buffets ala Line and Straits Kitchen, its quite simple bordering on ascetic. Quite accessible to subway and other chinatown shopping places. And i almost took home their chopin playing alarm clock (retails around S$ 200) but decided against it... fab and charming
