"Excellent!"
I researched the New York Helmsley for a while before deciding to book the hotel. There were some mixed reviews about the Hotel. A group of us just returned from a trip to NYC on Mon. Aug. 14th. Our visit and stay shattered all stereotypes about NYC and the hotel. The Bellman was very helpful and provided tips on where to eat and get good deals. The renovated rooms were very clean and smelled clean. The room included a flatscreen tv along with free internet; including using your own laptop to connect to the Hotels Internet. From the moment we arrived until we departed, everyone was very nice and polite. The hotel employees were not overzelous about making it known that they are supposed to be tipped. I will definitely stay at the New York Helmsley for my next trip to NYC! Be sure to request a renovated room from the hotel directly after you initially book.

My Mum and Dad and My husband and I stayed here for two nights at the beginning of August. I had researched the hotel on Trip Advisor and was pleasantly surprised to see that MOST of the comments left were positive. I can only endorse this sentiment1 The hotel was very clean and welcoming. We were staying on the 29th floor and our room had a superb view of the Chrysler building. I could hear traffic but that only added to the feeling of being in the 'city that never sleeps!' This was our first time in New York and the atmosphere was electric. We were totally over whelmed with the whole experience. The hotel was perfect for Grand Central Station and we were more than thrilled with the service. We didn't think that the $18 (before tax) breakfast at the hotel was worth it so we toured every morning to the Pax Deli next door. The staff there are courteous and the food is wonderfully fresh - good value too. This was a perfect start to our three and a half weeks in the USA. We went to Florida for the rest of the vacation. The New York Helmsley is worth a return visit!
