Hotel Information
A beautiful old hotel built in a castle style...
Swallow Newton Hotel is one of the expanding Swallow Hotels group in Scotland. History dates this place to before 1650, when it belonged to the (sweetly named) Roses of Kilravock and was no more than a house and well-situated farm.
The Newton Hotel has recently undergone extensive refurbishment. A modern extension features bedrooms and impressive conference facilities. The new and beautifully appointed bedrooms of the extension perfectly complement the bedstock in the older building. The public areas are both pleasant and relaxing.
* Conferences and social receptions can also be accommodated in the hotel’s eight function rooms, the largest of which can hold up to 500 people.
* In the original house the spacious rooms are filled with period furniture, from circular refectory tables to big sofas and heavy curtains with swags and tie backs, all showing a sense of character in-keeping with the building.
* There is the MacMillan Suite, named after a previous guest, Sir Harold, former UK Prime Minister; there are 3 other suites to choose from – one of which is the Chaplin Suite, named for Charlie himself who for many consecutive years spent 2 - 3 weeks here with his family. Yet another is the Tower Suite from which the extensive 21 acres of grounds can be viewed along with an uninterrupted view over the Moray Firth.
