"We loved the Newton!"
We stayed at the Newton mid-July for a whole week. It was our first time in NY and we were very apprehensive about the accomodation. It turned out as one of the best surprises of our trip!
The Newton is cheap, squeeky clean and the staff was vey polite and helpful. The hotel is wonderfully located. It is at a 5 minute walk from " the reservoir" in Central Park, a one minute walk from the subway (lines 1-2-3) which will take you to the 42nd st / Time Square in 5 minutes and a 15 minute walk to Zabar's (which is on the 80th st) ........There's absolutely NO doubt in our mind that our future trips to New York will come hand in hand with our stay at the Newton.

"THE BEST IN NYC!!!!"
My husband and I checked out the Newton Hotel when we were staying at the Quaility Inn(Days Inn now) at 96th in 2002 with my sister Gayleen. We were very impressed with Emilo at the front desk! In 2003 when we went out again, this time with the same sister, her husband, and two of my other sisters, Jolleen and Colleen. We called Emilo direct and made a resversation for two queen suites on the 9th floor. Rooms were fantastic! Service excellant! Showing my family NYC was great in itself, however the hotel made the trip even better!! Just like home with the coffee maker, refig, setting area's, large bath etc. My husband and I then went to NYC with one of the sister's from the 2003 trip, Colleen in 2005. We had a 2 queen suite on the 4th floor with a small dining area, again no complaints! All the positives that have been said are so true!!!
There are four of us going out again this Sept 06 for the 5th anniversary of 9-11, we booked with Emilo, still there!! Gayleen and I so excited to go back and stay at the Newton, and "our" little neighborhood. The best price in town for the $$ and we have been to NYC many times. Taking the subway to the lower ,mid, etc. is part of the fun of Manhatten!
Watching the people and the hussle and bussel is fun. Then you go back up the the west side and set on the bench's on Broadway in the evening where it is more quiet, eat at the Keywest, and sleep comfy at the Newton!! Oh, and don't forget the shoeshine guy in the mornings out side the door! Great guy!
LOVE YOU AT THE NEWTON!!!! And no, my poor husband is not tired of my family yet! LOL There are two more sisters to show, Dorleen and Arleen....
