"Loved the Artus"
This hotel was a bit of a surprise as we could not find any reviews anywhere. However, it turned out to be an entirely pleasant one!
The location is great, close to Ku-Damn and Charlottenburg and literally next to the Berliner Strasse U-Bahn.
The staff were excellent willing to help a bunch of english with directions, good restaurants and clubs at all hours!
The rooms were HUGE- we expected a bedroom and a bathroom and got both these and a luxurious lounge and a little kitchen!
I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone as we paid less than £75 for a twin room- it's just a pity we could not stay any longer to appreciate Berlin and this great hotel.

"Great stay"
I first read the reviews on this side and when booking, I've asked for a quiet double room and got one far away from the main road, so no noise at all. It was actually a little suite; the bedroom was separate from the living room and we got a kitchenette as well for €74 per room and night which is compared to other 4* hotels in Berlin quite cheap. I have to admit that the hotel is a bit off the track but just some steps from the next metro station which takes you in a few stops to the famous Kurfürstendamm or Railwaystation Zoo. The hotel staff is very helpful.
Would definetly book my next Berlin stay at this hotel again.

"Excellent Value"
For Americans, the falling dollar makes travel in Europe perhaps a bit more expensive than before. Our stay at the NH Berlin City-West was an excellent value for money.
We stayed twice, two weeks apart. Each time, we found the hotel staff helpful and well-organized. When our flights were delayed and we knew we would arrive in Berlin a day late, the hotel accommodated us for the five nights we had booked, moving the reservation to start a day later without incident. We speak German and English and the staff worked well in both. The hotel is extremely clean and comfortable, and in a quiet neighborhood that's very close to bus and subway lines for quick access to noisier parts of the city. But coming back to the NH for a quiet sleep is just right. Ask for a room that's not on the main street, but facing back instead, and it will be totally quiet, as the view is just family residences. The hotel decor is simple and Ikea-like, with the main ideas of comfort, convience and cleanliness being stressed, rather than high design.
Breakfast is plentiful and delicious, but perhaps more economical and equally enjoyable is having a coffee and pastry just 5 minutes away by foot around Bayricher Platz or Rathaus Schoeneberg subway stops. Dinner across the street in the lone local restaurant that has a late-night open kitchen is really tasty, not expensive, it is typical of regional German cooking, and the place has local residents in it, rather nicer than the bus-group infused hotel restaurant patrons.
