"explore the city and sample local Dutch hospitality"
Nh Central Station Hotel staff were really helpful, the rooms were great, and the bar was good too. we didn't eat there at all but decided instead to explore the city and sample local Dutch hospitality. The hotel is in the north of the city which is a little way out of the hustle and bustle of the centre but they do lay on a shuttle bus service for their guests until approx. 3am.

Nh Central Station Hotel has nice rooms, clean, friendly personel, nice view. The room had all the conveniences, iron, tub, hangers, drawers, books, tv, internet, comfortable bed. The breakfast was well stocked and plenty of choice.

"Good hotel in Amsterdam"
We booked this hotel through Venere and got a rate of 408EUR for 4 nights. I was glad that we chose this hotel insead of others at city center. The area was quiet and there was a grocery store Alber Hein closeby. 10 minute walk to the river and take a free ferry you will be at central station and city center. But don't take your luggage walking this way. We did this by mistake and the road was rough and seemed endless. Bus 38 takes you from the ferry to outside of the hotel. The room was big and clean. The bedding was good. Compared to the stories I heard about other hotels and those hotels we saw at city center, I felt that we made a good choice. It has air conditioning, but not necessary during our stay in early September. We did not encounter large group of NWA crew like other people mentioned in their review. The staff was friendly. The internet was expensive, ~ 22 EUR per day. Did not try the breakfast. Save 4EUR if breakfast ticket is purchase one day in advance. There is a shuttle from this hotel to the other NH hotel near central station, but not close enough to central station if you have luggage. Bus 38 might be a better choice.

"Good hotel, highly recommended"
We stayed here for three nights, the rooms were very clean, modern and quiet, the bed was really comfortable and the bathroom/ shower room was very clean and modern. The staff were ok, polite and helpful. The hotel operates a shuttle service in to the centre of town ( very nr central station) this proved to be a great service, only 8 minutes drive and departing every 15 min during the day, after midnight you had to ring ( from the waiting room at the barbizon nh hotel) however a mini bus was despatched straight away, and saved us from using a taxi ( can be expensive) at any time during our stay. alternatively a 10 minute walk to the ferry (free!), brings you nicely to the central station. overall excellent hotel, do not let its slightly out of the centre location put you off! it was a welcome break from the hustle and bustle of downtown amsterdam. My girlfriend had a few minor gripes, the ironing board did not stay up, however we did have a good iron in our room, fridge and all the usual comforts.

"Satisfactory upgrade"
We were visiting Amsterdam for the 1st time and wanted a central hotel because we didn't want to spend long travel times getting to the city centre. We booked a package with these requirements in mind but the day prior to our departure we were contacted by the Travel Agent who offered us this hotel as an upgrade because there was construction noise at our previous selected hotel. What a fortunate decision we made in choosing this hotel. We were given a quite and lovely furnished room, the hotel provided a full cooked breakfast buffet which was great as my partner sufers from gluten intollerance, a continental breakfast is ruled out for us as most of whats on offer is poison to my partner, this solved all our problems. The walk from the hotel is not very far and is plesant, this is to the ferry (free) which is constantly crossing the canal and is no problem, the dock is just opposite the railway station. The shuttle bus is very convenient - when you arrive at Amsterdam Central Rly Station the bus is just across the road at the sister hotel NH City Amsterdam. This is a free service and runs every 10 - 15 mins and runs until 11.00pm weekdays and 03.00am Fri,Sat & Sun. The central hotels also offer the chance of a free toilet facilities as these are charged for throughout the city. Check-in and out were smooth and the staff couldnt have been more friendly and helpfull, they made our stay really great.. We would gladly use this hotel again without a second thought.

"NH City North, relaxed, friendly, fabarooney"
A party of 8 visited Amsterdam weekend of the 6th October for two nights. The staff were really helpful, the rooms were great, and the bar was good too. we didn't eat there at all but decided instead to explore the city and sample local Dutch hospitality. The hotel is in the north of the city which is a little way out of the hustle and bustle of the centre but they do lay on a shuttle bus service for their guests until approx. 3am. Be aware though that the bus only seats 8 so if you in a que be prepared to wit 15 mins for the next one. During busy times the driver will drop you at the ferry instead, and if you decide to get the ferry back make sure you get the middle ferry and not either of the ones to the left or right as you'll have a longer walk back than 10 minutes. a really nice touch, was that one of our party waas celebrating their 40th birthday, and the hotel were emailed secterly in advance. They upgraded the room without charge and left wine, biscuits and chocs in the room at a reasonable cost (which I'd planned for) Recommened! but not dring periods of heavy rain as the glass roof leaked a bit. A restaurant I'd def recommend is witteuyl (translated into The White Owl) in the museum quater. V.good, I'd thoroughly recommend this, especially their chocolate board. See feedback!
