"Clean, Comfortable, Convenient"
Due to flight schedules from the US, we arrived at 9:30am and were able to check into our room within about an hour with no extra charge. The room is an average European size in a contemporary style. Great bed. Our room was exactly like the website photo with big windows that actually open. The staff was always helpful and friendly. This hotel is only a couple of blocks from the (temporary) Rijksmuseum and van Gogh museum. Otherwise, there is not much within a block or two (shops, restaurants), but the NH is close to a tram line. Also, walking to the city center is safe and only about 15 minutes (watch out for the bycyclists). If you want to go to the north side of Amsterdam (Central Station and Red Light District), the walk is considerably longer. All in all, while I originaly wanted to stay closer to the city center, this hotel suited our needs very well on a crowded weekend.

"Great hotel, Great location"
Very Nice Hotel. Staff was very friendly and efficient. Room was large and well equipped. We were in room 735 which was on the corner of the top floor and overlooked the river and toward the rooftops of the Rijksmuseum. Couldn't have been more pleased.

"Comfortable and Peaceful"
This was not a first choice, but was near where our friends were staying. First off this is a modern purpose built hotel and is very well furnished and decorated. Staff were very polite, friendly i couldn't fault them. Our room a superior one on the 6th floor was huge and extremely comfortable and so quiet! The Tram lines 16 and 24 stop just a few moments away (RuydaelStraat) and take 10/15 minutes to Centraal Station. Also best steaks in Amsterdam at Cafe Loetje is just down the street from the tram stop. The main museums and the best shopping street (PC Hoofstraat) are also in close proximity. It's also within minutes of Albert Cuypstraat and Amsterdams largest general street market so it's position is really great especially if you like a bit of peace and quiet after a days sightseeing.
