LOCATION
Nh Nacional Hotel is located in the Art Triangle which is within walking dista nce from the Thyssen-Bornemisza, the Prado Museum and the Centro de Ar te Reina Sofia. The hotel is situated in the heart of the city, close to the Atocha train station (high-speeded trains) and overlooking the botanic gardens.

PROPERTY AMENITIES
* The breakfast buffet is provided with a large variety of exquisitely presented products. From Mon-Fri, you can enjoy breakfast from 7.00 to 11.00am, and on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays from 8.00 to 12.00am. For lunch and dinner, the restaurant is opened from Mon-Fri from 1.30 to 4.00pm and 8.30 to 11.30pm. During the weekends and holidays it remains closed, and lunch and dinner can be enjoyed in the bar or in the rooms. Room service is at the guests' disposal every day from 11.30am to 11.30pm.

"Loved the NH Nacional!"
I spent three nights at NH Nacional with a friend last week. We have nothing but positive things to say about the hotel. Upon entering the hotel, the lobby is modern and lovely. There is a bar area and some tables, chairs and couches as well.
Our tour group arrived early, but the rooms were ready for us. The room was your typical European type (aka smaller than a room in the U.S.). There were two twin beds, a desk, small table and chair. The draw space was not huge, just a closet with a few shelves and one or two additional small drawers in the room. The bathroom, however, was very nice. The sink was outside of the room with the toilet/shower/bidet. There was also a safe in the closet.
The staff was always friendly and helpful. They were glad to give us a wake-up call whenever requested as well. It does help to speak a little Spanish though.
The breakfast had good variety: several different types of cereals, meats, breads, pastries, yogurt, fruit. You could also request freshly cooked eggs/bacon/sausage. There is a restaurant in the hotel, but we didn't eat there.
The hotel's location was EXCELLENT. It was a short walk to the Prado Museum, Botanical Gardens, Parque del Retiro, as well as restaurants. If you want to do the double-decker tour bus, you pay the concierge, and there is a stop right outside of the hotel. The metro is across the street also.
As for restaurant recommendations, I highly recommend La Taperia. If you leave the hotel and make a left, it is about three blocks on the left, in a little alcove area. Jesus, Pablo and Bob were the best waiters ever. The food is delicious, and the drinks are divine. We actually wound up going there every night, whether for dinner or just drinks. Prices are very reasonable too. If you do go, please tell them that Kimberly and Joanne sent you.

"Awesome hotel."
We stayed at this hotel during our Europe vacation. Its located across the street from the Prado museum, kitty corner from the train station -Atocha, has a metro station across the street from it, and it even has a McDonald right next to it. We loved the location of this hotel. It was a 10 mins walk to Puerta Del Sol and 5 min was to the all the bars. The hotel rooms are big for European standards. The room had a very clean bathroom and the room was nicely decorated. I would stay here again with no reservations.

"Good Location"
So there is a fair bit of traffic about, get over it. This is a lovely place to stay, easy to find, well located for getting about by tube, foot whatever 10 mins walk from Gran Via less to main museums. Staff nice and friendly allways willing to help. We speak no spanish but had no problems. Breakfasts nice, good selection. Rooms very nice and comfy. Would definitely stay there again.
