Feel the excellence of history along with modern comfort and hospitality...
The Nh Schiller Hotel is located in the historic heart of the city on the Rembrandtplein. Conference facilities, department stores, boutiques, museums and canal boats are all within easy walking distance.
Nh Schiller was built in 1912. The exterior of the building is very traditional. Now that this hotel has been completely renovated, it is without doubt one of the best first class hotels in Amsterdam, as are the other hotels in this chain, ie the Doelen and the Caransa.
Besides that; the building retains many wonderful examples of art nouveau decoration, nearly all of which has remained intact since the hotel was built in 1912. |

LOCATION
Being located in the center of town, NH Schiller is close to some of Amsterdam's most popular restaurants. Utrechtsstraat runs off the Rembrandtsplein and has several highly recommended restaurants by Dutch Food Guides.

"Lovely"
This hotel was lovely - staff very helpful and the bath was HUGE!
Very nice clean rooms, although there is some building work going on at the back of the hotel and unfortunately builders in Amsterdam seem to start work at 7.30am. But that's not the hotel's fault!
Very good central location, and they didn't seem to mind us disappearing up to the room with MacDonalds bags and chinese takeaways!
Would certainly stay there again.

"fantastic"
We stayed at the schiller for 3 nights. On arrival at 3pm we heard noise from a garden behind the hotel. It stopped after 30 mins. It was gardeners. The room had been updated since our last visit. High quality furniture, extremely comfy bed, just phone reception if you want different pillows. Lovely bathroom, high quality toiletries, sponge, comb, scrubber etc. The television was an hd flat screen that swivelled round.
The following morning the gardeners started at 7.30 and finished at 3.30, however, we were not disturbed by noise, only occasional noise, however we were out most of the time the gardeners were working.
A lot of updating was going on in this hotel, with some floors closed off, however there was no noise from the work in the hotel.
This was our second visit and we would go back again!!

"A good choice"
A nice hotel with good atmosphere. The rooms can be very different so try to get a good one! The restaurant/bar in the premises is very good with excellent service. When we arrived to the hotel the check in clerck had that kind of attitude "at the price you paid for a superior room you will suffer"...so we waited too long for the room and, when we did ask for a front room, he gave us a courtyard room, just for the statement. It was the only exception, the other people where really nice. You can walk to most places but the area itself is much too touristy for me.For the best and for the worse you have a nice bar just next to the hotel and next door a "smokatorium"...

"Old Amsterdam"
My husband and I stayed at the NH Schiller from the 21-24 of march, 06. Our train from Paris broke down in Antwerp so we checked in late, we were upgraded to a suite with a balcony overlooking Rembrandts statue and the Night Watch. There was a coffee shop right next door and a Burger king & McDonalds down the street (if you get a craving for home). There is a tram stop right on the square and it easy and affordable to use. The staff at the Schiller was amazing. The cappucino in the brasserie was the best I have ever had and the decor throughout the hotel was beautiful. I recommend going to the Schiller cafe for drinks only, just to see the gorgeous deco lighting. I have fallen in love with Amsterdam and when I return it will be to the Schiller.
