The newly built Jolly Hotel Villa Carpegna is a new building opened on the 5th of October 2000. It is situated a few minutes walk from the Vatican City and near Villa Pamphili Park.

"A good place to stay"
My husband and I have just returned for a 3 night stay. The hotel staff could not do enough for us - nothing was too much bother. Our room was immacualte and well furnished, we had full maid service every day.

"Our Trip in July 2004"
August 6, 2004 My wife and I visited Rome from July 11 to 15, 2004. What a great city. We stayed at the Jolly Hotel Vittorio Veneto (very close to Via Veneto) and walked ALL over the city. I would definetely recommend this hotel to people going to Rome. Rome is very “walk-friendly” (pardon my English) and you don’t need a taxi once you know the lay of the land. You definetely do not need to rent a car. We saw a great play (short duration) located at the Marmitime Prison (called Caesar - it’s not Just a Salad) by the Miracle Players (see their web site). Superb and very entertaining. The main sites to see are Pantheon & surroundings, Piazza Spagna and surroundings, Via Corso (from end to end - not too long), Vittoria Emmanuele Monument, Roman Forum & surroundings, Colloseum & surroundings, Vatican & surroundings. We couldn’t see it, but Piazza Navona is a must as is the cruise on the Tiber River, I believe, and we regret we could not get to see these two interests. If you are into scuba diving, there are dive operators who operate out of Rome too.

"Jolly Good Experience"
Being disinclined to spend a small fortune on a Rome hotel - Holy Week prices seem particularly steep - we decided to brave the Jolly Hotel Vittorio Veneto, despite some very negative reviews on this website. What an excellent choice this turned out to be. For €185 per night - a steal by Roman standards - we had a large, well-appointed room, with a fantastic roof terrace overlooking the Borghese Gardens, and an excellent view of St Peter's in the distance. The bathroom was perfectly adequate, and came complete with a decent length bath - as opposed to merely a shower. Everything was spotlessly clean. Breakfast - served in the slightly 70s feeling ground floor restaurant - was included in the price. This consisted of a buffet, with a choice of the usual ham, salami, cheese etc, bacon and eggs, and a range of other goodies. Enough to stock up for the day if need be. The service was perfectly pleasant and efficient. We also used the hotel's car to the airport - slightly more than the fixed price taxi fare (although arguably this does not apply since the hotel is just outside the walls of Rome) but a whole lot pleasanter. The location of the hotel is superb - if you like this end of Rome, that is. It is a short walk to the Spanish Steps and the Via Veneto (a stone's throw from Harry's Bar), just opposite the entrance to the Borghese Gardens, and pretty close to the best (in my view) collection in Rome, namely the Villa Borghese. Altogether, highly recommended.
