"Very good hotel, excellent value for money !"
I've just come back from a 3-day trip to Madrid. I only stayed at the NH Zurbano for the last night, but I was very impressed by this hotel. Room was simple, yet very functional and pleasantly decorated, wi-fi internet available in the room as is the rule with NH nowadays.
Not the most central but you can quickly get to just about anywhere in Madrid relatively fast from the Zurbano. It is 50 metres from Plaza Gregorio Marañon (with a Metro station that bears the same name), which itself is on the Paseo de Castellana, Madrid's main avenue, which spans from Plaza Cibeles, off the Prado, all the way to the Santiago Bernabeu and beyond, and is served by an extensive bus network.
Just the one hiccup regarding this hotel, breakfast was mentioned as starting at 7.30 on weekends but when I got up on Saturday morning they were still preparing it at 7.40 - as it happened, it would only start at 8. Probably mattered little to the vast majority of guests, but not to me as I had to be at Villaviciosa de Odón, which is on the outskirts, about 25 kms away, at 9 am.
Staff is courteous, surrounding area quiet and at 60 Euros per night plus VAT (w/o breakfast) this was an absolute gem!

"Great Deal!"
Had a great time staying here, close to the city center and the airport. Nice rooms, and not very expensive at all. Recommended!

"A Wonderful Surprise!"
I found this hotel from Trip Advisor and based on quality / price, I decided to book it. They also do a wonderful package for "Warner Bros" theme park, so we took that deal via the hotel's own website. What a gem! Firstly, the hotel is very central and easy to find. It is located a short distance (even walking in some cases) from Madrid's main attractions. The hotel staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel is modern and very clean. It is a city hotel, so don't expect massive rooms. But, when compared to say, Paris, the room was very big. The bathroom could have been a little bigger, but I'm just being picky now! There are no real views as such, but we were just after somewhere to sleep, and this place was perfect. I liked the interiors (very modern and clean-cut). Breakfast was great. This really was a full-blown continental breakfast - none of that toast and coffee rubbish other places serve. You could have hot food, but we all opted for the ample cold buffet. We left stuffed! If you take your car, the hotel park is very expensive, but if you have foreign plates and park it in a legal space, you don't have that much to worry about, besides a standard ticket/fine (and we all know what to do with those!) If I ever go back to Madrid (which will probably be soon), I'll be staying there again. Really - very, very, happy.
