Caution
Our room bore no resemblance whatsoever to the photo, and was on the shabby side. It was small (the smallest en suite I've ever seen)and of dubious cleanliness. The bedding and linens were the worst I've seen in any hotel in terms of cleanliness and quality.
The lobby and bar area were very shabby and in need of refurbishment. Hotel is convenient for town and on the main bus route so useful budget stay. Staff are friendly. The breakfast buffet was very good. GTA rates persuaded us to try it, but I'm not sure I'd return. |

"a nice stay"
My mum and I stayed there for a few days last year. We booked it through gtahotels.com. I have checked that is there any non smoking rooms available and I got it. We both prefer non smoking rooms. The hotel is very nice. It is close to the transpor links so easily accessible. Bedrooms are comfortable and there is wireless. The meals at the hotel's restaurant are delicious. Only disappointment is that the hotel is a little old not a big deal. It is a nice budget hotel if you are not looking for luxury |

Nice & Friendly
Nice Hotel for the price paid. Friendly hardworking staff, walking distance from Broad Street. What more could you ask for?
Would Stay Again if in the City and the price was right. |

Norfolk hotel
i booked into the hotel after reading several reviews mostly good, i checked in, in the evening around 7 pm we found the hotel to be of a good clean standard however when we went to the room it was very cold and smelt damp there was ver minimal bedding, the shower flooded the bathroom when we used it. the following day we had to go out early but when we returned back later the room was freezing and smelt very bad of damp. we complained and were moved into the new part of the hotel which was modern, warm, plenty of bedding and a comfortable bed, this was the room shown in the picture, the staff were very good about it and the food there was fantastis, i just feel that if they want to creat a better impression they should upgrade these old rooms |

"the NEW norfolk hotel"
Having stayed in many hotels in birmingham, i decided to stay in a new hotel which used to be the comfort inn edgbaston. My first impression was great with a comfortable and relaxing lounge and very friendly receptionists.
I checked into my room promptly and found the room to be a very
spacious, clean and a delightful view of the garden.
Having to arrived in the evening (due to a business meeting), i was
feeling vey hungry and decided to go to the headlingley restraunt located near the front side of the hotel. I had duck pate for starters which was very refreshing, but the best part was still to come. The mains was a fillet steak with creamy peppercorn sauce and fresh steamed vegetables. To say i have eaten steak many many times is a understatement. This steak was the best i have had in over 20 years!!!!! (And this is the main reason for writting this review). I finished off with a old school treacle sponge pudding served with piping hot custard and which was also very delightful. The bill came under ?20 with a glass of house red wine. I would have easily paid 3 times as much for this type of quality of food.
My time at the norfolk hotel was a fine dining and resting experience, and would happily go back and fully recommend it to anyone wishing to stay in birmingham.
