perfectly located
Perfect location near everywhere. Just 15 minutes from the downtown. Well-kept, clean, simple rooms. A bit noisy. Good budget hotel. |

"A Lovely Experience"
We stayed here with our 5 year old child for 6 nights. The room was really comfortable and we had everything we required. The room was very clean and all the staff we encountered were really excellent. Breakfast was fine, there was quite a lot of choice but it was the same stuff every day.... so is breakfast at home I suppose!! The location is superb, quite literally only a two minute walk to the Central Station in Copenhagen. Transport in Copenhagen is excellent and we had absolutely no difficulty getting around. Tivoli was great. Our 5 year old had a complete ball there. There is the tallest carousel in the world there that just opened this year, quite phenomenal.
There is a great swimming pool nearby, DGI BYEN, it's part of a hotel complex about 200 yards from the hotel. Great for the kids, especially if the weather is hot. The open top tour buses are good but make sure you get the three line ticket if you want to see the most of Copenhagen. It is cheaper to get a ticket for all three bus lines than to buy them separately. Drinks are quite expensive here but it is to be expected in Scandinavia. Bobby's kiosk just next to the hotel is very handy for cold coke and stuff, much needed when you don't have a fridge in your room. We had a great time at the Ibis Star and would certainly recommend it to anyone. If I had any gripe at all it would be the cost of the internet at the hotel, at 110k per day to hire a modem it was a no no.

"Clean, quiet and convenient on a budget"
When you book an Ibis you never expect to arrive at the most luxurious hotel in town - but you expect high standards from Europes leading budget hotel chain.
The Ibis Copenhagen Star wins points for being a cheap, centrally located hotel, that provides clean, safe comfortable rooms in a grand building.
The best thing about the Ibis Star is its proximity to the train station. It is literally a three minute walk - yet never feels like it is in a typical dirty station district. A walk into central Copenhagen is a pleasant 8 minute stroll, the Tivoli gardens are a little bit closer.
Some reviews say that the Ibis Star is very close to the Red Light district. Well, it is quite close, but only really visible if you actually go look for it. I wouldn't let this deter me from choosing this hotel.
The staff were pleasant, and we were given a huge corner style room. The room was typically Ibis, concentraing on functionality rather than luxury. Saying that, the bed was comfortable and the shower was hot.
Ibis breakfasts are nothing to write home about - save the 6Euro and find a small bakery for breakfast!
And a small tip when staying in Scandinavia, if you want the PERFECT lunch, find a Jensens Boeufhus. Beautiful steak at a fraction of the price you'd pay in th UK!
