"Hotel Normandy, Comfortable and ideal location."
My friend & I, two 'senior' ladies from the west coast of America, recently stayed at the Hotel Normandy. The location was ideal, close to many places we wished to see, our room was large and very comfortable with plenty of storage space, a nice clean bathroom and big fluffy towels.. The breakfast room was light & bright, with a plentiful buffet,the variety of food was great, bacon, sausage, fried potatoes, eggs....breads, croissants, pain au chocolat, toast, jam, cereals, fruit, yogurt, cold meats & cheeses, you name it, it was there....lots of coffee & juices.
We don't speak french and were happy that the personel at reception and the concierge were very helpful and considerate, making it easy for us to locate places and get a taxi for our return to the airport.
Hopefully, I will return to Paris and I will certainly stay there again.

"Absolutely Fine: Was worried to death without cause"
I was terrified to say the least of staying in this hotel! I cried when i read the reviews (To my boyfriend's horror!): Brothel-like, dirty and poor facilities were what i was expecting.
I was so surprised. We stayed over Christmas for 5 nights. It was a great Parisian Hotel. It was not in my estimation dirty whatsoever and i am quite a house proud and generally obsessive clean-type person.
The staff were great, booked taxis for us and advised us on local opening times over christmas.
I think maybe people who have not liked this hotel were probably expecting too much from a parisian hotel. In these hotels the furniture is older but cosy and period. I would definately stay at this hotel if in Paris again. Stay away if you like clinical hotel chains without charm |
