"Very good value"
We went when it was just changing the name from a Mercure Hotel chain ie Accor to the Nova in early Oct 03. Thought the resort was great. We were recommended the hotel by a tour operator that has been about 15 times. It was exactly as he had described so very pleased.
The staff were exceptionally kind and attentive. Always offering their help and advice. Spoke great english but as you may already know or will find out most of the Thai people are.
Basic accommodation but very clean, spacious and comfortable (what more can you want). The TV and mini bar facilities were adequate but to be honest we took most of the fridge content out and ended up filling with our own water and food. There is a Tesco just 5 min taxi ride away so very convenient. The food in the hotel is the only thing we could fault. It was good quality and had international choice but just lacked in variety especially breakfast. The on-site thai massage facility is ok. The pool is fine but be aware it is not really child friendly. We would not recommend for the elderly as all rooms are set in a hill. Gardens are nice.
There was free transportation to and from Chaweng which went every half hour during peak times. This was so convenient and a bonus when it came to going into Chaweng. It was nice to be away from the hubub of the town to be honest and staying in a quiet part of the island. We would definitely recommend eating of an evening, on Chaweng beach and not the main street. So cheap and the fresh fish/tiger prawns were fantastic as well as the green Curry's of course.
Overall for the 3* rating, it was very good value so thumbs up. We would definitely return or recommend.

"Excellent place to stay!"
Stayed here for three weeks. The staff made the holiday. so friendly they went the extra mile for you. rooms were very clean and comfortable. Very close to airport, beach and town. Highly recommended
