"Good hotel with great location"
My wife and I stayed at the Novotel Atrium in Darwin for 5 nights in October 2006, and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We had specifically sought an ocean view, and were not disappointed. Our room on the 5th. (top) floor was excellent, and provided an uninterrupted view over Darwin Harbour. This hotel is nearly twenty years old, but is still in very good shape. Our room was large and could have accommodated four people. We stayed during the "build up" weather season, with high daytime temperatures and humidity, and were grateful for the excellent airconditioner in our room. The hotel is situated on the Esplanade, only one block from the restaurants/pubs of Mitchell Street and the Smith Street Mall, and is within easy walking distance of the CBD. Lovely parkland is across the road. Luggage storage is available, and upon our return to the hotel after a two night absence, during a tour of Kakadu and Litchfield National Parks, our excess luggage had been removed from storage and returned to our room. There is a guest laundry on the ground floor with washing machines and dryers, for those guests who want to wash their own clothes. Although we did not dine at night at the hotel's restaurant, we breakfasted there each morning, and enjoyed the quiet ambience and range of foods.

"A Nice Hotel"
Novotel Atrium
Good sized room with all the amenities needed. The jungle atrium was interesting and seemed to make the hotel more relaxed and informal yet still smart. The staff were friendly, helpful and well trained. The swimming pool was out doors and looked little used. The hotel was reported as full but did not appear so. The restaurant ZEST was being refurbished but the temporary one in the Atrium worked fine. The Esplanade is a one sided street of hotels and apartments behind which are bars, shops, banks, cafes and restaurants. We would stay there again.
