"Modern and deluxe business class hotel"
This hotel is part of a complex associated with the convention center on the Buda side of the Danube. It is located adjacent to a scenic park and an upscale residential neighborhood. It is about a 30 minute downhill walk across a bridge to central Pest or you can take a bus. Much of their business probably comes from events associated with the convention center, rather than tourists per se, and, although it may be off the beaten track, it is still quite close to Pest and to the castle area in Buda. I found the hotel to be state-of-the-art modern and exceptionally clean with all the amenities one could expect. The hotel's website accurately depicts what I found. Perhaps there are some un-renovated rooms, but my room had a brand new appearance with Ikea-like furniture, LCD flat panel TV, and new bath fixtures. My room was well insulated against street noise, although you could still hear the occasional siren or motorcycle. The ventilation system worked really well and was quiet. The hotel takes no-smoking quite seriously. Seven of the nine floors are non-smoking and the signs are posted prominently. I didn't smell any smoke at all while I was there. The food at the restaurant was quite good. The breakfast buffet was good quality, although I've stayed at other hotels in Budapest with more of a variety of foods in their buffet. There was a small section devoted to Asian foods.. The staff was always polite and helpful. I would given this hotel a five-star ranking even if it were in the United States. It excels by any standard. I did not check-out the pool area or the exercise room, so I cannot comment on previous posts along these lines.

"all I needed at the Novotel Congress"
Hi, I booked this hotel through expedia as the had very competitve rates. It was my first time in Budapest but I had stayed with Novotel before in France and Germany. Everything was fine, the front desk staff was very helpfull, no issues the changed some money for me and I booked a 2 hour sightseeing tour through them for which the bus showed up on time at the hotel entrance. I found the Buda side very nice, we did a visit to the castle which was only about 5-10 minutes by taxi and they charged 1250 forint which is about 5 euros or 6 dollars. we had a new room with LCD TV and the room had a queen sized bed. We had breakfast delivered in the room and it was good decent not fancy. there is also a restaurant bar and bowling but we did not use it. The city itself is beautiful, especially loved the area around the castle and the chain bridge. Again leaving for the airport we good our taxi through the desk and the even had a bellman which you do not see in all Novotels. Overall very good value for money, we would go back on a next visit.

"New rooms very comfortable"
I stayed here because our Bank organised a christmas dinner in the main ballroom. The dinner was excellent with a great show during and after the meal. We were offered a choice between a standard or a renovated room and paid a little extra for the new room. It was very comfortable with a fresh new look, duvet and a free safe in the room. The coffee maker came in handy and overall we a a very good night rest. bath rooms are new as well, a bit small but with nice shower no tub. The day after our gala dinner we went sightseeing and as the hotel is on the Buda side of the city it wasn`t that far with the streetcar or bus to the castle and other sights. for the rate we paid(under 100 euros) it was a great deal. lady at the front desk very nice and very entertaining waiters at dinner.

"had a good stay at the Budapest Novotel Congress"
Hi, just returned from a trip to Austria and Hungary and want to give feedback on my stay in Budapest. We travelled by car and the hotel had a free parking with security guard. The check in was easy and Mark at the desk was very helpful giving us infos on things to do. We could upgrade for 10 euros to a brand new guestroom which had LCD TV and nice furniture. In total we paid 99 euros per night including breakfast and taxes. The hotel has a good restaurant and room service and even a bowling which we did not use. It is on the BUDA SIDE not far from the castle. Service overall was friendly and good. We would stay there again because we know what we can expect there. Hope this helps,
