"Fabulous"
The hotel was great. Lovely rooms & very clean. Room Service was very reasonable, with three price structures. Pool lovely, gym very functional (only a bit too hot), bar and restaurant very nice and the food was excellent and large portions. Breakfast offered a good choice. There over the Rugby weekend so very busy. Lovely walk to town, about 10 mins, and £4-5 in a taxi back if you dont want to walk up hill. Only slight problem, not many scottish people worked there, but staff were very helpful and curteous.

"Weekend break in Edinburgh"
Spent 3 nights in the Novotel in mid-March. Fairly central location - approx 10 minute walk to Princes street, Grassmarket etc. or £4 in a taxi.
Room was clean, very modern and well-designed, although not huge. Some nice touches, for example being able to plug my MP3 player into the TV to play my own music.
Two very minor rants - tiny pillows on the otherwise very comfortable bed and my GF was not impressed with the small wardrobe space!!
We didn't eat in the hotel but some of our friends had breakfast and were very complimentary about the buffet.
We paid £297 r/o for the 3 nights which is not cheap but our expectations were met and a bit more besides.

"Did not expect it to be this good!"
-Great rooms, modern and extremely well designed and when you put all this together coupled with the fantastic central location the price is a bargain!
-The bathroom includes both shower and bath (separate) the toilet is a separate room. The bed was massive and extremely comfortable. We also had a flat screen TV with a speaker also in the bathroom and internet access etc. Oh and of course mini bar, safe, sofa ironing board with iron and hairdryer. Also the breakfast was really good and with none of those small plates and tiny glasses for juice!
-Not that anyone goes to hotels for fitness purposes but there is a small swimming pool and Jacuzzi and even a gym, but if car travel is more your idea of getting out and about than fear not for the safety of your beloved companion as there is plentiful garage space attached.
