"Well placed hotel"
This hotel was very clean, everywhere, and it was quiet. An excellent location on a street just off of the main square, a 10 minute walk from the station and close to the Menin Gate. Whatever the Novotel lacks in character it makes up for in being a comfortable and convenient place to stay. Skip the breakfast - get a delicious coffee and patisserie in the square instead, if you have time.

"Good overnight stop"
We have used the Novatel a few times now for overnight stays while on route into Germany. Its in an excellent spot and there is ample parking in the street. There is a sauna and gym on the first floor but it does not seem to be well signed. The cost at the hotel is very resonable with 3 of us staying for around £58-£60, but the breakfast works out expensive at £9 each. There is ample cafe's in the square that offer a lot better value. We always look out for the English newspapers near the bar so we can catch up on the news

"my favourite hotel "
Together with 2 sisters and a brother-in-law we stayed at the Novotel during our first visit to Ypres. It was excellent in all respects - the location is great because it is just around the corner from the main square. Rooms spacious and have all the mod cons. Food excellent too, and the staff were most helpful. I would not stay anywhere else!
